"We fought to reach the final in Munich, but it could not happen due to unfair decisions from the referee," Laporta said in a statement on the club's media channel.

Mr. Laporta affirmed that the team tried very hard, but refereeing mistakes prevented them from going further.

At Giuseppe Meazza Stadium on May 7, referee Szymon Marciniak became the center of attention after changing his decision on a penalty awarded to Barcelona, leaving fans disappointed. The incident occurred in the 68th minute, when Lamine Yamal was fouled by Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the penalty area.

As referee Marciniak pointed to the penalty spot, the Barcelona fans were ready to celebrate. However, after reviewing the VAR, the Polish referee changed his decision. The VAR images clearly showed that the foul had occurred outside the penalty area.

Barcelona players rushed to protest, but Marciniak made a gesture suggesting that there was still a small gap between Yamal's fall and Inter's penalty area.

Marciniak made a controversial move.

Agreeing with President Laporta, Barcelona midfielder Gavi wrote on his personal page: "It's hard to accept, especially knowing how close we are to the final. They don't want us in the final because they're afraid of what we'll show."

President Laporta pledged Barcelona would return next season. He said: "We have a strong squad for the present and the future. I believe that if we continue to work hard, the dreams of the club and the fans will come true. Next season, we will return to the Champions League and be determined to compete for the championship."

Barcelona will host Real Madrid in La Liga on May 11 at home.

Barca's 3 goals in the match against Inter On the morning of May 7, Barcelona led 3-2 until the 90+2 minute but was still equalized by Inter, then lost 3-4 in extra time in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final.
