National Assembly Chairman receives General Director of Kim Chang Law Firm

At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated Kim&Chang Law Firm for supporting and advising many Korean investors in seeking investment and business opportunities in Vietnam in recent times. Currently, Korea has become the No. 1 investor in Vietnam; import-export turnover ranks 3rd and that result has important contributions from leading consulting firms, including Kim&Chang Law Firm.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that the high political trust between Vietnam and South Korea is an important foundation for economic , trade and investment cooperation between the two countries to develop even more strongly in the coming time.

In the context of the current rapidly changing and unpredictable world situation, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized that businesses of the two countries need to strengthen cooperation to create and maintain supply chains, especially for strategic products. Recalling that during his visit to Korea in 2021, some Korean investors commented that Vietnam could be a stronghold in semiconductor technology - a field that the world needs and Vietnam also needs, the National Assembly Chairman hoped that Kim & Chang Law Firm would research and connect to cooperate to create an ecosystem related to this extremely strategic product.

The National Assembly Chairman also agreed with the viewpoint of supporting enterprises of the two countries to transfer technology, learn management models, contributing to increasing the localization rate of key Korean products in Vietnam; hoping that Kim & Chang Law Firm would support and promote cooperation between enterprises of the two sides in agricultural and seasonal labor.

Regarding the OECD's global minimum tax, the National Assembly Chairman said that it is expected that at the end of April, the Vietnamese National Assembly will organize a seminar and workshop on this field and at the year-end session, the Vietnamese National Assembly will have a decision on amending the Law on Corporate Income Tax to take effect in early 2024.
