On the afternoon of June 30, Comrade Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member and Chairman of the National Assembly, had a working session with the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee.
At the meeting, comrade Truong Canh Tuyen, Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, quickly reported on the results of the trial operation and arrangement of facilities for new communes and wards in the (new) Can Tho City.
Accordingly, the results of the trial operation in 103 communes and wards of Can Tho City basically ensured smooth and synchronous operation; no work interruption, administrative procedures for people were resolved within the prescribed time; steps in the process of coordinating document processing, consulting with leaders of agencies and units were carried out quickly and synchronously...
Regarding digital infrastructure, up to now, Can Tho City has completed 100% of the task of upgrading information technology systems, from handling administrative procedures, managing documents, emails, online conferences, integrating, sharing data to city databases... Information technology human resources are also basically arranged to meet the requirements of serving people and businesses.
Regarding the arrangement of headquarters after the merger, 3 localities (Can Tho, Soc Trang, Hau Giang) have a total of 4,050 public headquarters.
After the arrangement, Can Tho City will continue to arrange the use of 3,674 headquarters, 376 surplus headquarters have been reviewed, and plans have been made for the arrangement of departments, branches, police forces, military, fronts...; the remaining surplus headquarters will develop a roadmap for handling in the coming time, ensuring no waste.
Speaking at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the preparations for the operation of the two-level local government of the new Can Tho City.
The National Assembly Chairman requested Can Tho City to strongly launch the "Digital Education for All" movement, quickly, drastically and promptly deploy digital transformation; promote the application of science and technology, artificial intelligence; ensure the new apparatus operates normally without interruption; reduce difficulties and inconveniences for people in handling administrative procedures.
Along with that, ensure connectivity and synchronization in handling procedures for people and businesses; review, pay attention to investment, renovation and upgrading of workplace facilities; strengthen inspection and supervision of new commune and ward administrative units...
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized: "People are very interested in and following the effectiveness of two-level local governments. Therefore, the issue is that localities need to focus on implementing solutions to quickly resolve administrative procedures, soon promote the effectiveness of two-level local governments, and meet the requirements and expectations of the people."
On the same afternoon, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the working delegation directly inspected the Public Administration Center of Ninh Kieu Ward (former Can Tho), Thanh Hoa Commune (former Hau Giang) and Phu Loi Ward (former Soc Trang).
