“Under the sacred red flag with yellow star, before the National Assembly , before the voters nationwide, I, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, swear: Absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, to the People, to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Strive to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, State and People”, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man swore before the National Assembly at the 7th Session.

In his inaugural speech shortly afterwards, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man respectfully thanked the XV National Assembly deputies for their trust in electing him to hold the position of Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

“This is a great honor and at the same time my great responsibility before the Party, State and People” – Mr. Tran Thanh Man expressed.

In the solemn moment, the new National Assembly Chairman expressed his respect and infinite gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh; expressed gratitude to the senior leaders, revolutionary veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the armed forces, heroes of labor; families of martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, and families with meritorious services to the country.

The National Assembly Chairman also expressed his gratitude for the correct and close leadership and direction of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; thanked the National Assembly deputies, compatriots, voters nationwide and our compatriots abroad; countries, organizations, individuals and international friends who have helped and shared so that our country Vietnam has never had the foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it does today.

The National Assembly Chairman said that he is always deeply aware that, no matter what position he holds, he must always adhere to the goals of national independence and socialism; creatively apply and develop Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought; adhere to the Party's renewal policy; and ensure the highest national interests and the legitimate rights, interests and aspirations of the people.

Firmly grasp and seriously implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; be steadfast, consistent and uphold the Party's working principles and laws in the face of new difficulties and challenges of the country.

Along with that, regularly cultivate, practice, and improve revolutionary ethics; seriously self-reflect, self-correct, self-criticize and criticize; be exemplary in ethics and lifestyle in work as well as in personal and family life.

Proud of the glorious Party, great Uncle Ho, heroic Vietnamese people; expecting the future development of the country, to meet the requirements and tasks in the new period, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man determined to make the greatest efforts and determination to join the entire Party, people and army to successfully achieve the goal of building a prosperous, civilized country, with a prosperous and happy people.

Carrying out the duties and powers stipulated in the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the duties entrusted to him by the Party, the State and the People, he vowed to devote all his efforts to serving the Fatherland and the People; together with the National Assembly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the agencies of the National Assembly, the agencies under the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the National Assembly deputies, continue to innovate, improve the quality and effectiveness of activities in both legislative work, supreme supervision and decision-making on important issues of the country.

Continue to strengthen the National Assembly's foreign affairs work together with the Party's foreign affairs activities, State diplomacy and people's diplomacy; promote democracy, solidarity, openness, transparency and professionalism, contributing to building a truly socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people and for the people.

The National Assembly Chairman also hopes that the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, leaders and former leaders of the Party, the State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front; National Assembly deputies, agencies, sectors, voters and people nationwide, our compatriots abroad, dignitaries, intellectuals, international friends, and press agencies will continue to support, accompany, help, and create conditions for him to successfully complete his tasks.

Immediately afterwards, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and representatives of Party and State leaders presented flowers to congratulate National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
