After 31 years of re-establishment (April 1992 - April 2023), from a purely agricultural province with a very low starting point, Soc Trang has made important development steps, its socio -economic potential has been enhanced, and it has a new, more dynamic appearance. The average growth rate in the 2021-2023 period reached 5.76%/year and in the first 9 months of 2023 is estimated at 5.14%. The estimated GRDP per capita in 2023 is 60.3 million VND/person/year, an increase of 1.3 times compared to 2020. The total budget revenue in the first 9 months reached 3,777.8 billion VND, equal to 85% of the estimate, the whole year is estimated at 4,420 billion VND, an increase of 1.02 times compared to 2020. The industrial production index is estimated to increase by 12%/year; Industrial production value in 2023 reached 28,200 billion VND, an increase of 1.2 times compared to 2020. Export turnover in 2023 is estimated at 1.50 billion USD, an increase of 1.3 times compared to 2020. Agricultural production is relatively stable; by the end of 2023, 70 communes were recognized as meeting new rural standards. The activities of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and the People's Council and People's Committee at all levels are increasingly substantive, effective, and of improved quality, focusing on pressing issues of concern to voters and public opinion.
At the meeting, after listening to the opinions of the Ministers and Chairmen of the National Assembly Committees, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue commended and congratulated the results and achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Soc Trang province have achieved in recent times, especially since implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Soc Trang's economic scale is still small, the target is very high, so the aspiration must be stronger and bigger. Emphasizing this, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue suggested that, in the remaining time of this term, based on the conclusions of the Central Committee, the direction of the Government, the Resolution of the National Assembly, the Standing Committee of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee continue to pay attention to leadership and direction to set the highest targets for 2023 and for 2024 to contribute to the entire term.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue reiterated the goal in Soc Trang province's planning to become a fairly developed province by 2030, a main gateway from the Mekong Delta to the East Sea through a connecting transport infrastructure system and Tran De port, and a regional hub for agriculture, industry, services, logistics, and energy projects.
From there, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue suggested that Soc Trang continue to accelerate the urbanization process, ensure connectivity between dynamic urban areas with industrial and service zones and clusters, and key centers; connect the sea space with the mainland; accelerate the implementation of infrastructure investment, especially transport connecting with the region. At the same time, promote administrative reform, develop human resources, plan agricultural product processing, call for investment in agricultural and aquatic product processing...
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue also suggested that Soc Trang should immediately implement the planning. “Soc Trang has been faster in developing the planning, but it also needs to be faster in implementing it, because “time is power,” said National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

The 8th Central Conference has just issued a series of new policies. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue requested the Standing Committee of Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee to promptly grasp and implement the resolution. At the same time, the National Assembly Chairman requested Soc Trang to participate more actively and effectively in the legislative work of the National Assembly, especially with important draft laws that the National Assembly will consider and decide at the upcoming 6th Session such as the Land Law (amended); the National Assembly's supreme supervision work; carefully prepare and organize well the vote of confidence for the leadership positions of Party committees at all levels and the people holding positions elected by the People's Council. In addition, Soc Trang needs to continue to promote the work of Party building, building the political system, paying attention to implementing well the work of planning cadres, including planning cadres for elected agencies.
Regarding the province's proposals, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue requested the Government, representatives of ministries, branches and central agencies to discuss and exchange opinions; the National Assembly Office synthesizes proposals and recommendations to send to relevant agencies for research, consideration and resolution according to their authority.
