More resources, more localities 'reach the finish line' in the journey to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

(Chinhphu.vn) - Over the past week, the program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses continued to record positive movements in both policy and implementation practices.

Mobilizing all resources from the central to local levels in the journey to ensure safe and stable housing for people

268,470 houses - an impressive number showing the scale and determination in ensuring housing for people .

On July 19, 2025, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1568/QD-TTg allocating nearly VND 1,940 billion from the increased central budget revenue in 2024 to support housing construction for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs. This is an important resource to effectively implement Decision No. 21/2024/QD-TTg on housing support policies for this group of subjects.

At the same time, Ca Mau province officially announced the completion of the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses - bringing the total number of localities "reaching the finish line" to 19/34 provinces and cities assigned the task, reaching a rate of 55.9%.

According to data updated as of July 27, 2025 on the program's monitoring software system, the country has completed and is currently constructing a total of 268,470 houses. Of which: 234,975 houses have been completed and handed over for use; 33,495 houses are under construction or under construction.

All people with revolutionary contributions have been supported with housing, achieving a completion rate of 100%.

The specific support structure includes: 41,800 houses for people with revolutionary contributions (100% completed); 88,644 houses under the two national target programs (82,244 houses have been inaugurated, the remaining 6,400 houses are under construction); 129,065 houses under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses (of which 110,392 houses have been completed, 18,673 houses are under construction).

These figures not only demonstrate the strong political determination of all levels and sectors, but also clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of the synchronous participation and total mobilization from the central to local levels in the journey to ensure safe and stable housing for people - especially vulnerable groups, meritorious people and ethnic minorities.
