Information about frost in Brazil helped coffee prices recover in the early days of the week; however, by the end of the week, the impact of the weather conditions became insignificant. This led speculators on the exchange to resume selling off. In addition, the accelerated pace of the coffee harvest in Brazil also put downward pressure on the market.

In Vietnam, according to Reuters, domestic coffee prices continued to rise compared to last week, as many Vietnamese and Indonesian farmers remained cautious about selling, hoping for further price increases.

A trader in Dak Lak said: "Farmers are currently reluctant to sell their produce because they expect prices to exceed 100,000 VND/kg."

Traders have also noticed a slowdown in trading activity as many people shift to buying coffee from Indonesia and Brazil, where prices are more competitive.

"The coffee harvest in Vietnam is expected to start in October, so I think farmers can't hold onto their stock any longer," he added.

Additionally, traders said that flooding caused by Tropical Storm Wipha did not affect coffee-growing regions.

"The rain has been beneficial for the coffee plants during their growth phase, and no farms have been damaged by the floods," another trader in Dak Lak commented.
