Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung highly appreciated the good cooperative relationship between Vietnam - Netherlands in general, Quang Tri - Netherlands in particular over the past 50 years, especially through humanitarian programs and projects of Dutch non- governmental organizations that have been and are being implemented in the province.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee briefed the delegation on the achievements in the past time as well as the potential for socio-economic development of Quang Tri province. At the same time, he hoped that in the coming time, the Government and Dutch partners would continue to support the province in developing infrastructure in poor localities, remote areas, schools, medical facilities, building smart agricultural models to adapt to climate change, training human resources, receiving interns and students of Quang Tri and improving capacity for natural disaster prevention and climate change response.

MCNV’s programs have brought about significant changes in many areas, from health care, social inclusion, to community livelihood development, sustainable forest management to respond to climate change for the people of Quang Tri. However, MCNV is facing difficulties in mobilizing aid, and the aid funding for the MCNV Office in Quang Tri is quite limited.

Therefore, it is recommended that the Government and Dutch partners support MCNV in raising funds in the coming time to have resources to implement projects related to sustainable forest management associated with livelihood development in ethnic minority areas. Pay attention to and support the province in calling for connections with Dutch businesses and investors to learn about the investment situation in Quang Tri in accordance with the conditions and common interests, focusing on the following areas: infrastructure construction, seaports, marine economy, clean energy, tourism, services, aquaculture and seafood processing, coffee, rubber, etc.

Continue to support and facilitate PUM to cooperate with the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center in supporting small and medium enterprises; call on Dutch investors to come to research and survey to establish investment projects on agricultural and food production and processing in the province to expand the market to Laos and Thailand through the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC).

Support the province to continue connecting with Nijmegen province or introduce a locality with similarities and common interests so that the province can raise the issue of establishing a relationship between the two localities with the aim of cooperation and mutual development.
