The extent of Quang Hai's injury has not yet been determined.

According to an announcement from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai suffered a calf injury after a collision with an Uzbekistan player. However, doctors have not yet been able to determine the exact extent of the injury to the 1997-born midfielder. On the morning of October 14th, doctors will take Quang Hai to the hospital for scans to check his condition.

Previously, defender Ho Van Cuong suffered a torn eyelid and required 7 stitches after a collision with a Chinese player in the match on October 10th. In the match against Uzbekistan, Van Cuong was not registered to play. Van Lam, Ngoc Hai, Tuan Anh, and Viet Hung all sat in the stands due to health reasons.

Quang Hai suffered an injury.

Nguyen Quang Hai has only played 16 minutes in the first two friendly matches of the Vietnamese national team in October 2023. The Hanoi Police FC player has not performed impressively. Quang Hai's physical condition is gradually improving, but his ball control and confidence in his handling of the ball have not yet reached the level that the midfielder himself and the fans expect.

A calf injury has significantly reduced Quang Hai's chances of playing in the match against South Korea. Although it's only a minor injury, he still needs 2-3 days of rest to fully recover, especially with the V-League season fast approaching.

If Quang Hai is unable to play against South Korea, he will miss the opportunity to reunite with striker Son Heung-min. The two previously faced each other when the Vietnam Olympic team met the South Korea Olympic team in the men's football event at the 19th Asian Games. The South Korea Olympic team defeated the Vietnam Olympic team with a score of 3-1.

Son Heung-min provided the assist for Hwang Ui-jo's goal, Quang Hai played well but couldn't help the Vietnamese Olympic team change the outcome. Minh Vuong scored the consolation goal for Coach Park Hang Seo's team.

The friendly match between the South Korean and Vietnamese national teams took place on October 17th. The Vietnamese team departed China on October 15th.
