Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Gharaei Ashtiani commented on the Azarakhsh and Arman air defense systems.

Recently, Defense Minister Ashtiani attended the launch ceremony of the Arman anti-ballistic missile system and the Azarakhsh low-altitude air defense system developed by Iranian experts.

Mr. Ashtiani described the new systems as a great achievement of Iran's defense industry.

The minister said his ministry has been making every effort to meet the requirements of the defense industry as well as provide equipment and weapons as required by the armed forces.

The Arman anti-ballistic missile system can detect targets at a distance of 180 km and destroy them within a range of 120 km, Mr. Ashtiani explained.

The system can be ready for operation in less than three minutes and will help strengthen the country's air defense, he added.

Regarding the Azarakhsh air defense system, the Minister said that the system has a short range and is developed to protect important centers against UAVs and small aircraft.

He said Azarakhsh can be mounted on various vehicles and is capable of conducting operations day and night.

Mr. Ashtiani noted that it acted promptly thanks to the use of a 3D radar system as well as an optical search...
