Báo Lạng SơnBáo Lạng Sơn30/05/2023

This season's Europa League final will take place at 2:00 a.m. on June 1 (Vietnam time) at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary. This is a 65,000-seat stadium, named in honor of former Real Madrid striker Ferenc Puskás.

Notably, this is the second UEFA final to be held at Puskás Stadium. Previously, Puskás Stadium hosted the 2020 UEFA Super Cup, when Bayern Munich defeated Sevilla 2-1.

Where to watch live?

FPT Play owns the broadcasting rights for the Europa League 2022-2023 season. The match between Sevilla and AS Roma will be broadcast on FPT Play platforms.

Readers are invited to follow information, comments and results of the match between Sevilla and AS Roma on the People's Army Electronic Newspaper at: https://www.qdnd.vn/the-thao/quoc-te.

Competition format

The Europa League final follows the same format as the UEFA Champions League final. The two teams play a single leg of the match. In the event of a draw after 90 minutes, the match goes into two 15-minute extra periods. The team that scores more goals wins.

If the scores are still level after extra time, the Europa League title will be decided by a nerve-wracking penalty shootout.

Game situation

Since both are currently outside the Top 4 in the domestic championship, the common goal is to win the Europa League in the 2022-2023 season to win a place to play in the European Cup C1 (UEFA Champions League) next season.

Some highlights

– AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho has won five major European titles to date, including the UEFA Cup in 2003, the UEFA Champions League in 2004 and 2010, the UEFA Europa League in 2017 and the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2022. If AS Roma lifts the UEFA Europa League trophy this season, the “special one” will be the coach with the most championships in the history of major European tournaments, surpassing Italian coach Giovanni Trapattoni (5 times).

– Sevilla is known as the “king of Europa League” as they have won this tournament 6 times and have never lost a Europa League final in the past.

– Sevilla and AS Roma have only met in Europe in the round of 16 of the 2019-20 Europa League, where the Spanish side won 2-0 and it was also the last time Sevilla won the tournament.
