Bank stocks "explode"
After a sharp decline on July 29, the Vietnamese stock market recorded a strong recovery on July 30, with the focus on banking stocks. Thanks to the pull from this group, the VN-Index regained more than 14 points, significantly narrowing the decline of nearly 64 points in the previous session.
The stock market this morning recorded a tug-of-war as the VN-Index maintained its recovery momentum for most of the early session. Selling pressure increased again at the end of the morning session, causing the index to lose more than 3 points.

At the end of the session, VN-Index increased by more than 14 points, equivalent to 0.95%, to 1,507.63 points. VN30-Index also increased by 9.49 points; HNX-Index increased by 6.15 points; UPCoM-Index decreased by 0.96 points.
Cash flow clearly focused on two key sectors: banking and securities - which are also the two groups with the most impressive recovery. In particular, many banking codes such as SHB , VPB, STB, OCB, VIB, CTG increased sharply. In the securities group, stocks VIX, SHS, VND, MBS also recorded positive increases.
On the contrary, the Vingroup group of stocks continued to put negative pressure on the VN-Index, becoming the main factor pulling back the index's growth.
After being under strong selling pressure and being pulled down to the floor price at times in the session on July 29, SHB shares had an impressive recovery when closing at the ceiling price of VND 16,100/share.
In the whole market, the total value of matched transactions reached nearly 42,000 billion VND. The board was filled with green with 223 stocks increasing, of which 21 stocks increased to the ceiling price; 39 stocks maintained the reference price and 111 stocks decreased, 1 stock decreased to the floor price. Foreign investors also turned to net buy more than 1,500 billion VND today.

Banking stocks led the market's growth. SHB, VPB, STB, MBB... were the stocks that contributed the most positively to the index.
Foreign investors turned to net buying today. Specifically, SHB, VPB, VIX, GEX, MWG... were the codes with the strongest net buying. On the contrary, this group net sold SSI, VCI, FPT , FTS...
Previously, in the trading session on July 29, the VN-Index plunged 64 points right after reaching a historic peak.
Notably, the sharp decline on July 29 was also the first time the total market trading value reached nearly VND80,000 billion, with more than 3.2 billion shares changing hands. Of which, the HoSE floor alone accounted for more than VND71,000 billion of total liquidity.
All 30 stocks in the VN30 basket were in red, with HDB, SSI, MSN and TPB hitting the floor. Many other large-cap stocks also fell sharply, near the floor, such as GVR, LPB, SHB, VJC, VPB, SSB, MWG, BVH, BID..
In the last two sessions, the trading applications of some securities companies recorded connection errors when using the analysis and information lookup features. Many times, the electronic boards of securities companies were "frozen", unable to update the VN-Index score accurately.
Specifically, features such as viewing price charts, liquidity data, and foreign transaction statistics on the SSI application could not be loaded or were very slow. Some other securities companies such as MBS and VNDirect also experienced intermittent problems when accessing the application at the beginning of the session, but they were resolved immediately afterwards.
