VWS trains employees in “AI application”: Gradually bringing technology into practice

On July 30, Vietnam Waste Treatment Company Limited - VWS (HCMC) organized a training course on "Application of AI (artificial intelligence) to increase work efficiency and quality" for nearly 50 employees of the Company. This is a specific step in the company's digital transformation strategy, and at the same time clearly demonstrates the orientation of taking people as the center in the process of technological innovation.

The training program is taught directly by Mr. Phan Van Hung, Technology Director of Dreamax Technology Joint Stock Company, who has a lot of experience in deploying AI applications for businesses. Not only stopping at theory, the course gives students practice with popular tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini... through real-life situations such as creating reports, summarizing documents, building work digitization plans, finding technical solutions or processing input information quickly.

The training not only helps learners access new tools, but also opens up a new way of thinking about technology: AI is not a distant concept but a direct, practical support tool for each individual.

Mr. To Hoang Duc, IT staff of VWS Company shared: “Previously, I only used AI to analyze data or create technical reports. Through today's advanced training session, I better understand how to use AI as a virtual assistant, which not only helps me save time but also expands my creativity and supports my work much more effectively”. Other trainees also said that they had heard about AI but did not know where to start. After the training session, VWS employees felt more confident in using AI to shorten the time for processing documents, searching for documents, making plans, summarizing reports, analyzing data, etc.

Proactive training, leading digital transformation

Sharing about this orientation, Mr. Duong Van Cuong, Administrative Director of VWS Company emphasized: “Artificial intelligence is no longer a technology of the future, but a tool of the present. VWS proactively applies AI to training for employees, because we do not want to be left behind in the wave of digital transformation”.

According to Mr. Duong Van Cuong, before organizing internal training classes at VWS, the company's management sent staff from key departments to attend an 8-session intensive training course organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). After this team had acquired basic knowledge, VWS continued to expand the intensive training to all employees of the departments.

“We do not deploy it en masse, but step by step, with a clear roadmap for workers to approach, get familiar with, and then apply it proficiently. Employees in different departments will have different ways of applying AI, so proper training at each level is very necessary,” said Mr. Duong Van Cuong.

According to Mr. Duong Van Cuong, right from the beginning of investing in Vietnam in the field of waste treatment and environmental cleaning, VWS has affirmed itself as a pioneer in applying modern and advanced technology to operation, monitoring, processing and data management. At the Da Phuoc Waste Treatment Complex - where VWS is located, the sensor system, automatic control, water and exhaust gas treatment technology have been put into operation for many years. Now, with the strategic step of bringing AI to every employee, VWS is perfecting a smarter and more sustainable working model.

Mr. Phan Van Hung said that the application of AI is becoming more and more popular and brings clear benefits in improving productivity and work quality. Enterprises that apply AI early will have a competitive advantage, because this tool helps work faster, more and more accurately. However, AI cannot replace humans, but needs humans to master it to exploit it effectively and avoid errors.

According to Mr. Phan Van Hung, training courses like those at VWS are essential, helping workers understand the strengths and weaknesses of AI, thereby confidently applying it to their daily work. He highly appreciated VWS's methodical approach: first training the core technical team through courses in coordination with VCCI, then expanding training to office and operational departments... "The step-by-step implementation helps all employees have time to adapt, thereby applying AI effectively and sustainably. I hope that VWS's Da Phuoc Waste Treatment Complex will successfully apply and deploy AI in its business operations in the near future," said Mr. Hung.
