Lam Dong: 70,000-ton garbage mountain in Bao Loc stagnates, causing environmental pollution

According to many residents in Ward 3, Bao Loc (Lam Dong Province), the pollution from Bao Loc Waste Treatment Plant has recently continued to increase, significantly affecting the lives and activities of people in the area.

According to records, from 2024 up to now, Bao Loc Waste Treatment Plant (Friendly Green Environment Joint Stock Company) has had to temporarily stop operations many times due to frequent damage to equipment and machinery.

Household waste is collected and piled up without treatment, stagnant water causes serious environmental pollution at Bao Loc Waste Treatment Plant.

Because of the slow operation, the amount of garbage accumulated here is increasing. In mid-June 2025, Bao Loc Waste Treatment Plant had more than 47,000 tons of household waste. Up to now, the amount of garbage accumulated is about 70,000 tons, causing serious pollution.

Here, garbage is piled up on a high hill. On sunny days, the stench is carried by the wind for many kilometers. On rainy days, leachate from the garbage mountain at Bao Loc Waste Treatment Plant flows down to Dai Lao stream, then flows across residential areas in Ward 3 of Bao Loc.

The mountain of garbage from above is not covered, every time it rains heavily, the water overflows into Dai Lao stream (Ward 3, Bao Loc), causing environmental pollution.

It is known that from July 2025 to now, the operating unit of Bao Loc Waste Treatment Plant has not been paid for waste treatment costs, because the Bao Loc Area Construction Investment Project Management Board and Friendly Green Environment Joint Stock Company have not agreed on the unit price for waste treatment.
