This seawall area was partly washed away by the waves, breaking off the bricks and cement, damaging the pillars that cling to the sea. Many places above the seawall were cracked.
Locals said that when the tide rises, the water and waves crash strongly into the hollow, causing the hollow to widen and spiral deeper, reaching 3 meters right below the foot of the dike. This leads to the risk of the dike collapsing, making it unsafe for people and tourists when swimming or fishing here.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Thach, a resident of Vung Tau ward, Ho Chi Minh City, said: "This sea dike section is more damaged, so every time we go to the sea by this road, it is dangerous because the dike can collapse at any time. It has been raining and windy these past few days, so if we want to go to the sea, we have to wade across a longer road, we do not dare to go by this dike road."
Receiving feedback from the people, the Infrastructure Center (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction) coordinated with the People's Committee of Vung Tau Ward and the Vung Tau Area Investment and Construction Management Board to survey the current status, prepare a report to the competent authority to fix and repair, ensuring safety for the area.
According to the Vung Tau Area Construction Investment Management Board, the Vung Tau sea area has a sea dike system that was built in the 1990s. Over time, along with the weather and harsh environment, damaged spots have appeared. Some of them have eaten deep into the foot of the dike, causing insecurity.
