Giving advice to new players, Mr. Dinh Quang Hinh, Head of Macroeconomics & Market Strategy, Analysis Division of VNDirect Securities Company, said that this issue should be viewed from both positive and negative aspects.
The time when the stock market is very volatile is clearly not suitable for new investors, especially young investors because there are many risks, wrong calculations due to lack of experience can be paid when the market reverses. However, this is also a good opportunity for new investors to accumulate experience - something that cannot be created when the market is less "wavey". In addition, if there is a right strategy, investment performance can easily increase.
"I think that young investors and new investors can still participate in the market at this time, but the investment level should only be moderate with a small amount of capital, not investing heavily, especially not "going all in" with assets. That small amount of capital is both for investment and for accumulating knowledge and experience in the market. In case of wrong investment, the consequences are not too severe and there is still a chance to correct it," said Mr. Hinh.

Consulting on which stocks to invest in at this time, Mr. Hinh said that young people and new stock market players should choose to invest in industries that are being focused on development.
" The government is promoting public investment, so stocks in these industries have good room for growth, such as iron and steel, construction, and transportation. In addition, banking stocks are also a good investment choice because the government is promoting credit growth to promote economic development. In the next few years, the banking industry will still be a pillar in economic development," Mr. Hinh predicted.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang - Business Director of Yuanta Vietnam Securities Company - also believes that young people and new players should still participate in investing in the stock market at this time because this is also a good opportunity to gain profits, accumulate assets, knowledge and skills. Even if there are mistakes, they can still be corrected when the market is very prosperous, with much room for growth.
However, Mr. Quang recommends that young investors or new investors need to clearly identify that this is a period that requires extreme caution because stocks are very high, and small investors are the most vulnerable.
Mr. Ngo Thanh Huan - Chairman of the Board of Directors, CEO of FIDT Investment Consulting and Asset Management Joint Stock Company - also agreed that new investors, even those with little experience, should still participate in the stock market in the context of strong growth like today.
"However, I think you should not "go all in" with your assets but should divide them into different investments to buy evenly over time, buy gradually and spread out, to both accumulate experience and knowledge and stabilize your psychology when the market fluctuates," said Mr. Ngo Thanh Huan.
According to Mr. Huan, in recent times, many investors have achieved very positive results from stock investment, but most of them are long-term investors, experienced and know how to "time" to enter and exit appropriately. Meanwhile, many individual investors, especially new investors, those with great ambitions, rushed to invest all in when the market peaked and suffered losses.
"Therefore, we believe that new investors and young people need to have knowledge and learn carefully about listed companies and stocks before investing," Mr. Huan advised.
