At the close of trading on October 30, the VN-Index closed at 1,669 points, down 16 points (equivalent to 0.96%).

During the morning trading session on October 30th, large-cap stocks belonging to the Vingroup group (VHM, VIC, VRE) continued to exert strong pressure on the VN-Index. Conversely, some individual stocks such as VJC,FPT , and MSN still attracted capital. A bright spot was the influx of capital into some real estate (KDH, KHG, HDC, NLG) and livestock (HAG, ANV) stocks.

Entering the afternoon session, the market continued to be in the red. Increased selling pressure in the banking and consumer sectors, along with the narrowing gains of VJC and FPT, caused the VN-Index to fall below 1,665 points at one point.

However, in the latter half of the afternoon session, bargain hunting in large-cap banking and securities stocks helped the index partially narrow its losses. Red dominated the HOSE exchange with 175 declining stocks and 148 rising stocks; liquidity weakened compared to the previous session, indicating weak active buying demand. Foreign investors sold heavily, net selling VND 1,152 billion, concentrated in VIX, GEX, and MBB stocks.

At the close of trading, the VN-Index settled at 1,669 points, down 16 points (equivalent to 0.96%).

According to Vietcombank Securities (VCBS), capital flows are fragmented and have not yet spread strongly. In the context of significant volatility and clear divergence among sectors, VCBS recommends that investors closely monitor market developments to restructure their portfolios promptly if unexpected strong fluctuations occur. Simultaneously, they should proactively reduce their leverage, maintain purchasing power and a stable mindset to take advantage of market fluctuations and seek short-term profits.

Several other securities companies believe the market is currently experiencing significant volatility. Investors should continuously monitor developments during the October 31st trading session and only disburse funds when clear signals of bottoming out appear.
