Many poor children are supported
Nguyen Thi Hong (born in 2016) and Nguyen Thi Thuy (born in 2020) in Mau Cong village (Lac Phuong commune) lost their parents in 2022. Currently, the two children are living with their grandfather's brother, who is over 70 years old, a war invalid, and has many difficult family circumstances.
In August 2025, after research, the Defense Command of Region 3 - Le Thanh Nghi, City Military Command accepted to sponsor two children. Professional Major Nguyen Thi Thom, President of the Women's Union of Defense Command of Region 3 - Le Thanh Nghi said that with the support level of 500,000 VND/child/month, long-term support period, the unit hopes this will be a source of motivation to help the children have the conditions to continue going to school and studying.
Vu Khanh Linh, born in 2010, is studying a trade, and Vu Duy Hung, born in 2014, is a student at Anh Dung Secondary School in Phu Hai 1 residential group (Hung Dao ward) also face many difficulties in life. Their father died early, their mother left, and currently, the two sisters depend on their grandmother - the only worker in the family, but because of their old age, the life of the three of them is very difficult. Understanding their situation, in mid-September 2025, Hung Dao Ward Police coordinated with the Ward Women's Union to sponsor Linh and Hung. The sponsorship period is 5 years, each child is supported with 500,000 VND/month.
As for Nguyen Tu Linh, born in 2010, in Phu Thai commune, the support amount of 500,000 VND/month is a source of encouragement for her to strive to study. Linh's father suffered from a serious illness and passed away when Linh was young. The whole family of 5, including her grandmother, mother and three sisters, all depend on her mother's meager salary as a worker. At the end of 2022, Linh was sponsored by Ms. Nguyen Thi Le, Deputy Director of Binh Minh Garment Export Company Limited in Phu Thai commune for 4 years, also with an amount of 500,000 VND/month. "I am very grateful to Ms. Le for helping me have more conditions to study. I promise to try to study well to become a good child and a good student," Linh said with tears in her eyes.
