As soon as the floodwaters receded, teachers of Lien Minh Kindergarten (Duc Minh Commune) immediately began cleaning and repairing the situation. All staff, teachers, and employees of the school were present, sharing each part of the work. In addition to the school's forces, there was also active support from the Commune Police, officers of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs, parents and local youth union members. Each mud-covered table and chair was taken out to be washed and dried; school supplies were wiped down and rearranged; classrooms were scrubbed and disinfected to ensure a clean and safe environment.
According to a representative of Lien Minh Kindergarten, the floodwaters rose so quickly that the school only had time to move a portion of its belongings. When the water receded, the entire classroom was covered in mud, and some of the furniture was moldy and damaged, making cleanup very difficult. With the support of the forces, the school is urgently cleaning up and is expected to finish this week, so that the children can return to school early next week.

Not only Lien Minh Kindergarten, many schools in Duc Minh and Duc Quang communes were also severely affected. Some schools still do not have electricity, domestic water sources are polluted, teaching equipment is damaged and cannot be used immediately. These are major difficulties that have hindered the progress of recovery. The commune authorities are prioritizing the focus of forces to handle essential items such as electricity, water, and disinfection, to create the minimum conditions for teaching and learning.
In residential areas, people are also busy clearing mud, clearing village roads, and dredging drainage ditches. Many deeply flooded households have to rearrange furniture, dry clothes, rearrange houses, and clean kitchen areas, barns, and gardens.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Ha - Secretary of the Party Cell of Ben Hau village (Duc Minh commune) shared: “After the water receded, people in flooded communes proactively cleaned their houses, cleared village roads, and cleaned up living areas. At schools, cultural houses, and headquarters, people also actively participated with the government and support forces to soon put the projects back into operation. With the spirit of mutual love, households that completed early proactively went to help households in difficulty, clearly demonstrating the love of neighbors in times of trouble."
In residential areas severely flooded, the presence of organizations not only contributes to supporting people but also creates a spirit of unity and determination to overcome difficulties after the flood. They become a spiritual support for people, encouraging everyone to quickly stabilize their lives and prepare to restore production.

"Currently, we are focusing on cleaning schools and office buildings to soon stabilize teaching and administrative activities. People basically clean up their own houses, only some special difficult cases need support. In the coming days, after the water has completely receded, the locality will divide into groups by village, coordinate with mass organizations to help single-parent households and those in difficult circumstances, and participate in environmental sanitation, disinfection, and preparation of conditions for restoring living and production," said Mr. Le Dinh Tai - Vice Chairman of Duc Minh Commune People's Committee.
Also on this occasion, local agencies and organizations made efforts to bring Mid-Autumn Festival closer to children in flooded areas. Youth Union members, commune officials and organizations organized visits, gave gifts, candies and lanterns to the children, encouraging them to forget the difficulties after the days of flood.

The recent flood also caused great damage in Duc Quang commune with many households losing property, many hectares of crops being flooded, many schools and cultural houses being affected. The commune is urgently reviewing and counting the damage to develop a support plan suitable for each household. For families that are severely flooded, in difficulty or single, the commune has made a specific list and assigned direct support forces to ensure that everyone receives the necessary help as soon as possible.
Along with the efforts of the local government and forces, many charitable individuals and organizations inside and outside the locality have also actively donated and provided material and spiritual support to people in flood-affected areas. Activities of giving gifts, supporting essential necessities, repairing houses and helping disadvantaged families are regularly organized, contributing to reducing the burden and encouraging people to quickly overcome difficulties. It is this consensus and sharing that has created community strength, helping the process of overcoming flood consequences in Duc Quang commune to take place more effectively and quickly.

Mr. Tran Xuan Thach - Vice Chairman of Duc Quang Commune People's Committee said: "As soon as the water started to recede, we deployed a plan to mobilize local forces including police, military , militia, youth union and local officials to support cleaning in accessible areas. As the water receded, we cleaned up, with the goal of quickly restoring daily life, ensuring working and studying conditions and stabilizing production for the people. In addition, the locality will soon carry out general cleaning and disinfection to limit the risk of disease outbreaks after the flood."
Along with sanitation work, the communes have made plans to restore agricultural production and stabilize people's lives. The health sector has also guided people in treating domestic water sources, disinfecting and implementing disease prevention measures after floods, ensuring public health. With the strong direction of the government, the smooth coordination of local forces and the spirit of consensus and initiative of the people, the communes in the upper La River are gradually restoring their lives, stabilizing their lives and production.
