Vietnam Border Guard Young Officers Exchange Program

The 2nd Vietnam - Laos Border Guard Young Officer Exchange Program in 2023 was held in Ha Tinh and Nghe An with the participation of nearly 100 delegates who are young border guards and officers from the two countries.

A delegation of young Lao Border Guard officers came to Vietnam to participate in the program.

On the morning of June 26, at Cau Treo International Border Gate, Huong Son District (Ha Tinh), Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai - Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Vietnam Border Guard welcomed Colonel Unkham Siven-vong-sac - Deputy Director of the Border Guard Department (General Staff of the Lao People's Army) and a delegation of 45 young Lao border guards to Vietnam to participate in the 2nd Vietnam - Laos Border Guard Young Officer Exchange Program in 2023. Attending the welcoming ceremony were leaders of the Ha Tinh Border Guard Command.

The 2nd Vietnam - Laos Border Guard Young Officer Exchange Program in 2023 was held in Ha Tinh and Nghe An provinces from June 26 to 30, with the participation of leaders of the Border Guard Political Department - Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam and the Border Guard Department - General Staff of the Lao People's Army along with nearly 100 delegates of young border guards from the two countries.

Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai - Deputy Chief of Political Department of Vietnam Border Guard presented flowers and congratulated Colonel Unkham Sivenvongsak and the delegation of young Lao Border Guard officers attending the program.

During the program, delegates and young officers and officers from both sides will participate in many practical activities such as: disseminating laws to people on both sides of the Vietnam - Laos border; youth talks, the second young officer exchange in 2023 with the theme: "Young officers of the Vietnam - Laos Border Guard strengthen coordination, join hands to build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developed border"; sports exchanges and competitions; visiting historical and cultural relics in the two provinces of Ha Tinh and Nghe An; planting friendship trees at the Cau Treo International Border Gate Border Guard Station.

After the welcoming ceremony for the Lao Border Guard delegation, the young Border Guard officers of the two countries arrived at Son Kim 1 commune, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province to participate in a legal dissemination session for people living in Son Kim 1 commune and Thoong Pe village, Kham Cot district, Bolikhamxay province (Laos).

Young Lao border guards distribute propaganda leaflets to people living in Son Kim 1 commune and Thoong Pe village.

The program's organizers also presented 40 gifts to disadvantaged students in Thoong Pe Village (Laos) and Son Kim 1 Commune, Huong Son District.

Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai and Colonel Unkham Siven-vong-sac gave gifts to the students.

On the afternoon of June 26, at the Ha Tinh Sports Training Center Gymnasium, the athletes of the two countries exchanged a number of sports.

Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai - Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Vietnam Border Guard and Colonel Unkham Siven-vong-sak - Deputy Director of the Border Guard Department (General Staff of the Lao People's Army) also attended.
