Through an online consultation with Military Hospital 175 , the doctor diagnosed the patient with tuberculous meningitis and late-stage purulent meningitis. Given the patient's worsening condition, coma, and signs of progressive multi-organ dysfunction, the doctors decided to airlift the patient to the mainland for treatment.

The second patient is VXH (born in 1972), being treated at Phan Vinh Island Infirmary. On September 29, the patient showed symptoms of weakness in the right side of the body, crooked mouth, difficulty speaking, blood pressure 150/90 mmHg. Online consultation with Military Hospital 175 determined that the patient had a stroke in the left hemisphere, possibly a cerebral infarction, and hemorrhage had not been ruled out. Due to the risk of progressive brain damage and respiratory failure, it was decided to take the patient back to the mainland by air.

The third patient is TVC (born in 2005), treated at the Truong Sa Special Zone Medical Center with a diagnosis of nephrotic syndrome, symptoms of generalized edema, and hypertension. The patient is at risk of progressive respiratory failure and heart failure. This case is also indicated for transport to the mainland.

Complying with the order of the Ministry of National Defense , the 18th Army Corps mobilized the EC-225 VN-8622 helicopter and the air ambulance team of Military Hospital 175 led by Lieutenant, Doctor Nguyen Van Sang, Department of Intensive Care, departing from Tan Son Nhat airport at 4:15 p.m. on September 30 to Truong Sa.

Despite the bad weather due to the storm, strong winds and limited visibility, the flight crew maneuvered and landed on the islands to receive the 3 patients. During the mission, the air ambulance team of Military Hospital 175 approached, provided emergency treatment, and ensured safety for transporting the patients to the mainland.

Lieutenant, Doctor Nguyen Van Sang, Department of Intensive Care and Anti-Poison, Military Hospital 175 said that the flight had to receive 3 patients consecutively from 3 different islands, with a high intensity of work and under extremely high pressure conditions. In particular, the case of the tuberculous meningitis patient on Tien Nu Island was especially dangerous, because any change in pressure in the cabin could affect his life. Therefore, the flight crew and the medical team had to discuss very carefully, agreeing to fly at the lowest possible altitude to ensure safety, despite the long transport time. All three patients were brought back to the mainland safely.

Upon arriving at Military Hospital 175, the patients were taken to the Emergency Department, continued to check for injuries, conducted consultations and provided appropriate next treatment directions.
