According to the reporter of GD&TĐ Newspaper, at Cam Thuy 2 High School, localized flooding due to the rising water level of the Ma River has caused many roads to the school to be deeply submerged, making it difficult to travel. The school has announced that all students will be off school on October 1.

Similarly, Nong Cong 1 High School also temporarily stopped more than 1,500 students from going to school.

Mr. Luong Van Phan, the school principal, said: “Due to heavy rains causing the entire school area and classrooms to be deeply flooded, the school has informed students to continue to stay home on October 1. At the same time, we mobilized staff, teachers, and parents to participate in cleaning and sanitizing the school; homeroom teachers were asked to count and report the number of students in the area affected by the flood.”

In addition, many schools in the province also recorded damage to facilities. According to a report from the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training, as of October 1, the province had 187 educational establishments affected by storms and floods. The work of calculating the damage is still ongoing.

Previously, on September 30, the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa issued a dispatch requesting localities and educational establishments to urgently mobilize resources to overcome the consequences caused by storm No. 10. The content of the dispatch requested focusing on repairing facilities, environmental sanitation, supporting books and learning equipment to ensure conditions for organizing teaching and learning according to the school year plan from October 1.

For educational facilities that have not yet ensured safety, the Department recommends that schools report to the People's Committees of communes, wards and the Department of Education and Training to ask for opinions and decide whether to continue to let students stay home from school.
