Digital transformation is becoming a part of everyday life.

An Giang is accelerating digital transformation in many areas, from administrative reform to online public services, gradually improving the quality of service for citizens and businesses.

The province is implementing digital transformation in a comprehensive and synchronized manner, encompassing digital infrastructure, digital government, digital data, digital skills, and digital businesses. According to the Provincial People's Committee, many programs and plans to promote the digital economy and digital society have been issued promptly and appropriately to the local conditions. The province is implementing a policy of charging zero fees for online public services, creating a strong incentive for citizens and businesses to participate in using digital services.

Police at all levels in the province are promoting digital transformation through Project 06, focusing on digitizing population data, improving the efficiency of state management and providing online public services; strengthening the application of technology, developing pilot models, ensuring cybersecurity and administrative reform. Along with this, they are implementing many activities to disseminate laws and regulations linked to digital transformation; guiding people to use online public services and applying the VNeID electronic identification system in resolving administrative procedures.

To date, 100% of communes, wards, and special zones in the province have fiber optic internet. 100% of hamlets and villages have broadband mobile internet coverage. 5G networks are gradually being deployed in administrative centers, hospitals, schools, and key areas. The province's data center is maintained and operates stably and is being upgraded towards cloud computing, meeting the requirements of digital government development in the new phase.

The application of information technology in management and administration has shown significant progress. 100% of documents are exchanged electronically. The province's administrative procedure information system is currently providing more than 2,100 public services, with nearly 95% of applications processed on time or ahead of schedule; over 93% of public services are integrated into the National Public Service Portal. The quality of service to citizens and businesses has improved, contributing to a better investment and business environment.

At the Rach Gia Ward Public Administrative Service Center, citizens arriving to carry out administrative procedures receive assistance from staff right at the entrance. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, a resident of Rach Gia Ward, said: "Administrative procedures are carried out quickly, the center's officials provide dedicated support, and we don't have to waste time making multiple trips. We are very satisfied."

In various localities, 1,831 community digital technology groups with nearly 10,000 members play a core role in disseminating information and guiding people in implementing digital transformation. “With guidance from members of the digital technology groups on accessing digital technology, using smartphones, installing and using applications that serve daily life, many elderly people can now access ‘VssID - Digital Social Insurance, VNeID… to check information,” shared Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia, a resident of Cho Moi commune.

Farmers in various localities are gradually applying digital technology to agricultural production. Using smartphones to update market information, weather forecasts, and techniques for caring for crops and livestock; participating in online sales channels and connecting with agricultural product consumers brings practical benefits, gradually improving productivity, quality, and value of products on the same area of ​​land.

In My Thoi ward, bordering Can Tho city, the ward police are utilizing technology to serve the people in resolving administrative procedures and preventing and combating crime and social evils. The local police, in coordination with neighborhood groups, have established 30 community Zalo groups connecting with over 1,500 residents. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Cong, Deputy Head of My Thoi Ward Police, said: “Through social media platforms, especially community Zalo groups, people provide the ward police with many valuable sources of information on security and order, helping the ward police detect and prevent security and order-related incidents in a timely manner.”

Despite the achievements, the province still faces some challenges in the development of the digital economy and digital society. Some administrative procedures still process both paper and electronic documents simultaneously. Information technology infrastructure and equipment in some localities are not yet synchronized. There is a shortage of specialized human resources in digital transformation and cybersecurity. Digital skills among a segment of the population are limited.

In the coming period, the province will focus on completing the digital architecture and digital infrastructure in a synchronized and interconnected manner; upgrading shared information platforms and systems to meet the requirements of the two-tiered digital government model. The province will accelerate digitalization and provide online public services in conjunction with Project 06; strongly promote the development of the digital economy and digital society in key sectors such as agriculture, trade, tourism, health, and education...
