Citizens look up information regarding the processing of their applications at the Ca Mau Provincial Public Administrative Service Center.
Comprehensive investment is needed.
Overall, the province's digital technology infrastructure has been gradually invested in a synchronized and modern manner, meeting the requirements for operating the two-tiered local government model. Information systems operate stably and without interruption, enhancing the efficiency of state management and improving the quality of services for citizens and businesses.
| From July 1, 2025 to the present, 694 agencies and units have been using the electronic document management system, exchanging over 2 million documents entirely digitally, ensuring interoperability across three levels. The system has been upgraded to version 5.0, and over 23,155 new accounts have been created. Simultaneously, the LGSP platform connects 121 internal systems and 232 national data services, with over 14 million transactions, contributing to data synchronization, reducing manual data entry, and improving the efficiency of management and operation. The official email system currently has 25,162 accounts and 11,356 digital signatures issued, ensuring continuous and smooth system operation from the moment the new model was implemented. |
However, several challenges remain. The data center infrastructure, invested in many years ago, has undergone partial upgrades, but its storage and processing capacity only meets immediate needs. There is limited room for expansion, posing a risk of overload during the 2026-2030 period as data volume increases rapidly. Data between departments, agencies, and localities is still fragmented, lacking interconnection, and failing to meet the criteria of "accurate, complete, clean, and active"; the standardization rate remains low, hindering data exploitation, analysis, and decision-making. Furthermore, IT equipment in some units, especially at the grassroots level, is outdated and inconsistent, requiring prompt upgrades and replacements.
Ms. Tran Thi Cam Hang, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, at the conference summarizing one year of implementing the reorganization of administrative units and the operation of local governments at two levels.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Cam Hang, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, in the coming time, the department will continue to advise on improving digital infrastructure towards a modern and synchronized direction; focusing on upgrading data centers to Tier III standards, building backup systems, and developing digital infrastructure at the commune level according to unified standards. At the same time, it will promote the construction and exploitation of digital data and shared data warehouses; standardize data, strengthen connections with national databases; expand the application of artificial intelligence in management and operation, and improve the quality of online public services. In addition, the province will prioritize resources for digital technology, strengthen human resource training, and unify the deployment of shared platforms throughout the province.
