In the context of the strong spread of the 4.0 industrial revolution, digital transformation in the healthcare sector is an inevitable trend to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, optimize management processes and aim to build a smart hospital model. This workshop not only demonstrates the positive response to the policies of the Ministry of Health but also affirms the pioneering role of hospitals in the modernization of healthcare.

The program brought in-depth discussions on new technology trends such as AI, Big Data, IoT, Cloud and practical applications in hospital operations. Highlights include the Mediexpress stroke care model in Vinh Long province, the 199 Medical Hubs innovation complex model, the Ititan unified data platform solution as well as the orientation of building Smart Hospitals and information security issues in healthcare.

Dr. Truong Minh Chuong, lecturer at the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that smart hospitals are the highest development result from the digitalization and digital transformation process, aiming to improve the efficiency, performance and quality of healthcare. The roadmap for developing smart hospitals needs to be based on core platforms such as electronic medical records (EMR), medical image archiving and communication systems (PACS), laboratory information systems (LIS), hospital management systems (HIS)... Careful preparation of IT infrastructure and human resource training are prerequisite steps.
Dr. Ho Thi Thu Hang, Director of the Department of Health of Vinh Long province, said that the deployment of technology at commune health stations - a specific step in the journey of digital transformation of the local health sector - not only allows early screening of risk factors for stroke, cardiovascular disease, and kidney disease, but also effectively connects care levels, enhances disease prevention capabilities, and reduces the burden on upper levels.
In particular, the workshop featured a signing ceremony of cooperation between Hospital 199 and strategic partners such as the Department of Health of Vinh Long province, Titan Data Analytics Company and DX82 Company, creating an important foundation to strongly promote the digital transformation process.
