Green logistics is a vital condition for Vietnamese enterprises.
Speaking at the Green Logistics Forum - Resilience in fluctuations and connection with FIATA World Congress 2025, held on the afternoon of July 11, VCCI Chairman Pham Tan Cong emphasized: Green logistics has become one of the pillars of the National Strategy on green growth for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.
Decision 882/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister has identified logistics as one of the 18 key topics of the National Action Plan on Green Growth. In which, the green energy transition in the transport sector is a pioneering step.
A survey by the Business Council for Sustainable Development under VCCI shows that global supply chains increasingly place higher demands on greening all links, including design, operations, procurement, logistics and waste treatment.
According to Chairman Pham Tan Cong, the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) was also developed by VCCI to support businesses in self-assessing their "sustainable development health", thereby building action plans, improving weaknesses and attracting effective investment.
However, Mr. Pham Tan Cong said that ESG standards, Net Zero, carbon border tax, etc. are gradually becoming technical barriers forcing businesses to transform to survive. Therefore, green logistics is no longer an option, but a vital condition for Vietnamese businesses in the global sustainable development strategy.

FIATA World Congress 2025: Golden opportunity for international integration
Held in Hanoi next October, the FIATA World Congress 2025 (FWC 2025) will be the 99th congress of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), with the participation of more than 1,200 delegates from 150 countries. This is the first time Vietnam has hosted the largest logistics event on the planet.
Mr. Dao Trong Khoa - Chairman of the Vietnam Logistics Services Association (VLA) said that with the theme "Green Logistics - Quick Adaptation", FWC 2025 will be a forum for the global logistics business community to share experiences, solutions and technologies in the journey of sustainable logistics development.
With 7 thematic discussion sessions of the congress, it will focus on key topics such as: young logistics talents, cold supply chain, logistics for e-commerce, digital transformation, developing new transport corridors, promoting water-rail transport, and restructuring global trade.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Minh - Vice President of VLA, FWC 2025 will contribute to expanding the global partner network, diversifying markets, supporting Vietnamese enterprises to increase adaptability and sustainable development.

Analyzing the relationship with enterprises, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai - Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), green logistics is an "economic shield" that helps enterprises cope with fluctuations in transportation prices, fuel costs, and meet new requirements on carbon tax from the EU market. However, Mr. Hai also said that SMEs still face difficulties due to unsynchronized infrastructure, high investment costs and lack of green transformation experts.
The solution proposed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade is to switch to means of transport using renewable energy such as hydrogen, LNG, solar power; optimize operations using digital technology; invest in smart ports and warehouses and offset emissions through afforestation.
At the forum, the EuroCham representative pointed out that the challenges for Vietnamese enterprises when approaching the EU market are due to unclear policies and asynchronous infrastructure. However, according to him, Vietnam has a golden opportunity to invest in a modern, efficient and sustainable logistics system, if there is close coordination between the Government and enterprises.

Mr. Ken Yokeum - Vice President of Asia - Pacific of World Commodity Alliance (WCAworld) emphasized "We do not compete, we connect and promote cooperation". With more than 12,800 offices in 195 countries, WCAworld is committed to supporting the global green transformation with carbon emission measurement tools, helping member businesses improve and report according to ESG standards.
The WCA has invited all members to participate in FWC 2025 and implemented emission-reducing networking activities. The event in Singapore in 2026 is a concrete example of sustainable organization – instead of flying to 15 countries, businesses can meet partners at a single location.
