Recently, runner-up Thuy Van attracted attention from the beauty community when she appeared as the host of the VinFuture 2023 Global Science and Technology Awards ceremony. At this event, runner-up Thuy Van wore two elegant outfits: a formal evening gown and a traditional Vietnamese ao dai. "The guests included leading professors from around the world and many international guests, so the organizers paid close attention to the presenters' attire. My stylist and I selected 50 of the most beautiful outfits, including traditional Vietnamese dresses and evening gowns, to send to the organizers for their choice. Finding the right outfits in terms of color and style within a short timeframe was no easy task," said runner-up Thuy Van.

Runner-up Thuy Van: "I'm a perfectionist, but I still occasionally run into trouble with dresses and outfits."

Speaking to Dan Viet, the second runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2008 added that not only the organizers but also she herself is a perfectionist and meticulous about every public appearance. However, the beauty queen still couldn't avoid encountering some "wardrobe malfunctions" before the event.

"To be honest, I'm always careful, but sometimes I still have 'accidents' with my dresses. During the dress rehearsal for this show, my evening gown had a problem. So, my stylist and I had to go to Dong Xuan Market ( Hanoi ) to find a piece of fabric that matched the dress to fix the 'incident.' Finding a small piece of fabric that matched the dress wasn't easy at all. Because the dress was made by a designer in the South with imported materials… Luckily, I was still able to prepare the dress in time according to the organizers' requirements," Miss Thuy Van expressed.

Possessing a beautiful appearance that is praised for seemingly defying time, runner-up Thuy Van inevitably faces speculation about undergoing cosmetic surgery to achieve a slimmer, younger-looking face. Regarding the rumors of plastic surgery, runner-up Thuy Van frankly stated: "I can confidently say that my face is original. There was a time when I considered getting porcelain veneers or a nose job to look more Western. However, that intention was quickly abandoned."

According to the second runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2008, the reason she hasn't had cosmetic surgery is because beauty technology is now very advanced, and even makeup can help to make the face look slimmer. "Every time I go to the spa, there are many methods to lift the skin and make my face look brighter. Besides, I can't tolerate pain; I'm quite timid and also a bit conservative. So the story about me having cosmetic surgery is completely untrue," the beauty born in 1986 stated.

"Each person has their own unique charm. I've been a presenter for 15 years, performing on countless stages, big and small. So I understand what the audience needs from me, and I'm always honing my skills to confidently shine. And the audience will always love and remember Thuy Van - a presenter who is always dedicated and passionate about her profession," said runner-up Thuy Van.

Thuy Van won the second runner-up title at the Miss Vietnam 2008 pageant. Even after 15 years, she continues to receive love and attention from the beauty pageant community.
