In addition, Mr. Trung has donated blood many times directly to Can Tho Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital, in order to spread good things to the community. Besides, Mr. Trung also voluntarily participates in the live blood bank at Can Tho Central Hospital so that when the hospital suddenly lacks blood, he is ready to donate blood to serve the treatment of patients.
Not only did Mr. Trung volunteer to donate blood, but he also encouraged his friends and relatives to join in donating blood. “After each blood donation, I not only felt much healthier, but also felt happy, because donating blood to save people in times of danger is something I need to do and spread this kindness to everyone to join in donating blood to save people,” Mr. Trung shared.
Donating blood to save lives - a kind act that has followed Mr. Trung since his student days until he became a teacher. As Secretary of the Youth Union of Le Thanh Hien High School, Mr. Trung has many opportunities to participate in practical social activities. He not only pioneered the humanitarian blood donation movement, but also mobilized many teachers and students to participate.
At Le Thanh Hien High School, Mr. Trung organized many propaganda sessions about the meaning of blood drops to save people through the annual "National Blood Donation Day 7-4" with the call "One drop of blood given, one life saved" and touching stories when patients were transfused with blood and saved in time, inspiring and motivating many students. Up to now, Mr. Trung has donated blood 30 times, saving the lives of many patients in need of blood transfusion.
DEVOTED TO STUDENTS
Le Thanh Hien High School is one of the schools with many students in difficult circumstances and at high risk of dropping out of school. Therefore, Mr. Trung pays special attention to this group of students, in order to help them overcome difficulties and excel in their studies. Accordingly, Mr. Trung and the local Red Cross launched the movement "Step up to school".
The movement quickly received support from teachers, former teachers and former students, as well as benefactors, who donated 20 scholarships (VND 500,000/scholarship), 10 scholarships (VND 1 million/scholarship), of which 5 were for students admitted to universities. Although the value of each scholarship is not much, over the years, thanks to this activity, Mr. Trung has helped many disadvantaged students have more opportunities to continue their education, lighting up their faith in university, opening up a bright future for them.
Seeing many students participating in traffic on crowded and dangerous roads every day, Mr. Trung is always concerned about ensuring traffic safety for students. Mr. Trung shared: “There have been many accidents with students, seeing the dangers that always await them makes me always worried and uneasy.
Therefore, I regularly organize propaganda to integrate into class activities issues on traffic safety such as traffic laws, building traffic culture... in many different forms such as drama, presentations combined with image projection... have received a lot of attention and consensus from teachers, parents and especially the enthusiastic participation of students".
Recalling the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, Mr. Trung said that he and the local Youth Union called on and mobilized organizations and individuals to join hands to help students in difficult circumstances, handing them textbooks and mobile phones so that they could have enough conditions to study, because he believed that even though they temporarily stopped going to class, they would not stop studying.
Not only is he an active volunteer in donating blood, Mr. Trung is also a good teacher and loves his students very much. Mr. Trung not only focuses on knowledge and achievements, but also cares about educating students about morality, loving and sharing with others, especially training them in life skills.
In addition, he also spends a lot of time talking with students during the flag-raising ceremonies at the beginning of the week, telling them stories about Uncle Ho, good people, good deeds, typical examples of life force, effective learning methods, etc. He always encourages and promptly rewards students who strive to excel in their studies and in life.
Speaking about Mr. Truong Thanh Trung, Principal of Le Thanh Hien High School Vo Van Nghiem said: “Mr. Trung is a young and enthusiastic teacher, a role model for everyone to follow. Mr. Trung’s kind deeds have spread throughout the school and the community.”
