According to the Washington Post on June 6, leaked Pentagon documents earlier this year revealed that the CIA received the above-mentioned special information up to 3 months before the explosions damaged the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines carrying gas from Russia to Europe - that is, in June 2022.

CNN reported that the Ukrainian group accused of planning to blow up Nord Stream belonged to the Ukrainian military. CNN has not seen the documents directly, but three unnamed officials confirmed that the US was informed of the plans in advance.
The intelligence agency - from a European ally of the US - quoted a Ukrainian source as saying that "there were grounds to suspect Kiev was behind the sabotage" for nearly a year.
The intelligence source also said that the Ukrainian divers reported directly to the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi, "who was tasked with ensuring that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not learn about the operation."
CNN has reached out to the Ukrainian government for comment but has not received a response.
Meanwhile, White House National Security Council coordinator John Kirby declined to respond directly to the issue.
"There are three countries investigating the sabotage, Germany, Sweden and Denmark. Those investigations are ongoing and again, the last thing we want to do at this point is hope that those investigations are successful," he said.
The incident with the Nord Stream system on September 26, 2022, cut off a potential source of billions of dollars in income for Russia and caused a regional emergency by cutting off a vital energy supply to Europe, combined with the conflict causing oil prices to skyrocket.
Accusations have been leveled at countries including Russia, the US and Ukraine, but all have denied responsibility.
