Hanoi FC sacks Japanese coach.

Mr. Makoto Teguramori is no longer the head coach of Hanoi FC as of September 16th.

Hanoi FC announced the news on their homepage on the afternoon of September 16th. The team officially said goodbye to coach Makoto Teguramori after just over half a year with him. The management has completed the contract termination procedures and thanked Mr. Makoto Teguramori for his contributions during his time with the club.

Coach Makoto took over Hanoi FC in February of this year, during the second half of the 2024-2025 V-League season, helping the team finish as runners-up. However, at the beginning of the 2025-2026 season, the Japanese strategist was unable to prevent the team from suffering a poor performance.

After the first three rounds of the V-League, Hanoi FC only has 1 point, with a series of draws and losses against Ho Chi Minh City Police, Hoang Anh Gia Lai , and Hanoi Police, thus remaining in the lower half of the standings.

The 0-1 defeat against The Cong - Viettel on September 14th, which saw Hanoi eliminated in the qualifying round of the 2025-2026 National Cup, became the final straw that led to Makoto's dismissal.

After dismissing Mr. Makoto, Hanoi FC appointed Mr. Yusuke Adachi as interim head coach. Prior to this, Mr. Yusuke Adachi had served as Technical Director at the capital city's team since June of this year.

Yusuke Adachi, born in 1961, is a highly regarded Japanese expert with extensive coaching experience and a deep understanding of Vietnamese football. He previously worked at the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

Under the guidance of interim coach Adachi, Hanoi FC will face The Cong - Viettel again in Round 4 of the V-League 2025-2026 on September 20th at Hang Day Stadium.
