According to Tuoi Tre Online 's investigation, The Cong - Viettel Club is looking for another stadium to use as their home ground for the matches in rounds 20 and 21 of the V-League 2024-2025, which will take place on April 26th and May 2nd.
Currently, the military team is in contact to rent the Hang Day Stadium. Coach Nguyen Duc Thang's team will face Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) and Da Nang in these two rounds.
The reason for this is that on April 22nd, My Dinh Stadium will be used as the venue for the program commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam. This is a meaningful program, chaired by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, and the city of Hanoi, and implemented by the Army Radio and Television Center.
The Vietnam Professional Football League (VPF) organizing committee has received the information and is working with The Cong - Viettel club to find a solution. Coach Duc Thang's team will host SLNA and Da Nang in rounds 20 and 21 at a neutral venue instead of My Dinh Stadium.
Following that, in rounds 22 and 23 of the V-League, The Cong - Viettel will play away matches before returning to play at home at My Dinh Stadium in round 24, which will take place on May 24th.
A few days before that, VPF will reassess the quality of the My Dinh Stadium pitch. If the pitch maintenance plan of The Cong - Viettel Club and the My Dinh Stadium Management Board is not met, VPF will make a different decision to ensure professional standards are met.
Currently sitting in 3rd place in the standings, The Cong - Viettel FC still has a chance to win the V-League 2024-2025 championship. However, having to play away from home in the upcoming crucial period will significantly impact Coach Duc Thang's team.
Furthermore, the poor quality of the My Dinh Stadium pitch is a problem that not only worries the home team, The Cong - Viettel, but also frightens visiting teams.
Recently, two players, Vu Tien Long (Quang Nam) and Pham Ly Duc (Hoang Anh Gia Lai), suffered serious injuries while playing at My Dinh Stadium. On April 10th, Tien Long underwent surgery for an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), while Ly Duc suffered a grade 2 ligament sprain. Players and coaches alike complained about the poor condition of the My Dinh Stadium pitch, posing a significant safety risk to the players.
