Initial information, at around 6:30 a.m. the same day, while on her way home from the city, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai was passing Do Quan bridge when she suddenly discovered a female student jumping into the river.
Instead of panicking or calling for help, the teacher quickly ran down the stairs to the dike, then followed the dike for about 100 meters before diving into the water. Despite the strong current, she swam about 25 meters to reach and bring the students to shore safely.

The victim was identified as TMA (born in 2007), currently a student in class 12A7, Tran Hung Dao High School ( Nam Dinh ), residing at 2/65 Le Hong Son.
According to information from the Nam Dinh City People's Committee, TMA is living with her mother and grandmother after her parents divorced. She shows signs of depression due to family conflicts, especially after being scolded by her mother many times. Her father is a soldier working in Lao Cai , and her mother is currently an officer at the Environmental Company.

Fortunately, thanks to the timely and professional intervention of Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, TMA was saved and is currently being cared for and mentally stabilized at home.
Ms. Mai, born in 1988, residing in Tan Trai village, Hong Quang commune, Nam Truc district, is a physical education teacher at Hong Quang Primary School. Not only is she a dedicated teacher, she is also physically fit and has flexible response skills to emergency situations. Her brave actions have spread admiration and gratitude among the community, parents and colleagues.
