On May 30, Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP) and Cadence Electronic Systems Design Company signed a cooperation agreement to develop a design workforce in the electronics field and promote the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.
The collaboration aims to help students gain practical experience in IC design and verification, and learn how to solve technical problems in integrated circuit (IC) design, PCB design, and complete processes in IC design and manufacturing.
Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP) and Cadence Electronic System Design Company signed a cooperation agreement to develop a team of design human resources in the electronics field in Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of SHTP Management Board, said that Ho Chi Minh City highly values the cooperation with Cadence, a leading company in the field of EDA. With a strong commitment from Cadence in promoting training and research activities in this field, Mr. Thi believes that the cooperation between SHTP and Cadence will bring positive results.
"This program will provide students with the opportunity to access the latest technology and methods in IC design and system design, while gaining practical experience to achieve success in the field of electronics and microchips. Thereby, contributing to the development of the semiconductor microchip industry for Ho Chi Minh City and the growth of the Vietnamese economy ," said Mr. Thi.
Mr. Michael Shih, Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific and Japan at Cadence, said that SHTP plays an important role in promoting the development of high-tech industries and innovation in the region. He expressed his pleasure to cooperate with SHTP and universities in Ho Chi Minh City to develop human resources in the field of electronic design in Vietnam.
Mr. Michael Shih, Vice President of Asia Pacific and Japan Sales, Cadence Company, presented on the development level of the electronics and semiconductor industry.
"By providing access to Cadence software, we hope to equip future generations of engineers with the skills needed to contribute to the development of high technology in Vietnam," said Mr. Michael Shih.
On behalf of the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, expressed his gratitude to the central ministries and branches for always paying attention to the City and SHTP in developing high-tech industries. Ho Chi Minh City identified the electronics industry, especially semiconductors, as the city's spearhead industry. From there, the City People's Committee directed departments and branches, SHTP to urgently advise and prepare conditions on mechanisms, policies, land funds and highly qualified human resources to attract investment in the fields of electronics and semiconductors.
Delegates visit the first international e-training center in Vietnam
After the signing ceremony, the delegates also visited the Microchip Design Training Center of the High-Tech Park (SCDC) and visited and learned about the International Electronics Training Center (IETC) according to international standards, the first in Vietnam at the High-Tech Park of Ho Chi Minh City.
