Valedictorian shares "secret" to achieving 30/30 score on 2025 high school graduation exam

(NLDO)- Valedictorian Nguyen Duy Phong, who scored a perfect score of 30/30, is a student at a district school in Hanoi. He said he felt happy and proud.

In the 2025 high school graduation exam, Hanoi had two valedictorians of block A00 with perfect scores of 30/30: Nguyen Duy Phong, a student of class 12A5 at Chuong My A High School, and Nguyen Tu Quyet, a student of class 12A9 at Nguyen Gia Thieu High School.

Right after the Ministry of Education and Training announced the exam scores, the new valedictorian Nguyen Duy Phong said he felt happy and proud. His parents, many friends, teachers, and relatives congratulated him.

Previously, Phong was the top scorer in the Hanoi National University's aptitude test with 130/150 points. In March, he also scored 90.54/100 in the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking test, ranking 4th out of nearly 19,000 candidates.

Duy Phong said that with the results of these two exams assessing capacity and thinking, he is not too pressured with the high school graduation exam, but still tries to achieve the highest results.

At the end of the high school graduation exam, the male student was quite confident with his work and thought he could get 30 points when compared with the answers announced by the Ministry of Education and Training. He said the two most difficult questions in the Math test were the two questions of filling in the blanks - solving secret messages and stacking books. However, it only took him about 70-75/90 minutes to complete the Math test so he had time to re-read and check.

Meanwhile, Physics and Chemistry were easier than Math. It took the male student only 2/3 of the time to complete both exams.

Sharing more about his learning method, Phong said he focuses on grasping basic knowledge to understand the nature of the problem. The male student also spends time doing many test questions given by teachers to get used to and practice his test-taking speed.

The new valedictorian plans to enroll in Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Also achieving a perfect score of 30/30 in block A00 is Nguyen Thai An, a 12B1 student at Kim Son A High School, Ninh Binh .

In block A1, Nguyen Viet Hung, grade 12 English student at Chu Van An High School for the Gifted, Hanoi, scored 29.75 points. Of which, he scored 10 points in Math, 10 points in Physics and 9.75 points in English.

Nguyen Viet Hung is also the valedictorian of block D00 with a total score of 29, including 10 points in math, 9.25 points in literature and 9.75 points in English.

Hanoi also has 8 out of 12 subjects in the top 10 provinces and cities with the highest average high school graduation exam scores. Specifically, the subjects are Math, Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Economics and Law, and English.
