The province's hosting and co-organization of activities for the National Tourism Year 2026 is seen as a significant "boost" to position Gia Lai's tourism brand for sustainable development.

In the early days of the year, the atmosphere of preparing for the tourist season has begun to spread across the coastal city of Quy Nhon and the mountainous city of Pleiku. Many tourism businesses in the province have proactively prepared products, upgraded facilities, and developed new tours and routes, ready to welcome tourists during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse, aiming towards the series of activities of the National Tourism Year 2026.

One of the province's most distinct advantages is its diverse tourism ecosystem: islands, lagoons; volcanoes; the Kon Ha Nung Plateau World Biosphere Reserve; the Central Highlands Gong Culture Space; Champa heritage; the Tay Son peasant movement heritage; scientific exploration destinations... to form interconnected tourism routes "from the blue sea to the vast forests," creating diverse products to serve the needs of tourists.

According to Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Trang, Director of Trung Anh Trading - Service - Tourism Company Limited (Quy Nhon ward), previously, beach tours and highland tours were exploited by many tourism businesses in the eastern part of the province, but now there are more opportunities to develop integrated products.

“Tourists can spend the morning exploring the coastal city of Quy Nhon, watching the sunrise over Thi Nai Lagoon, and by afternoon be at Bien Ho Lake, the mountainous city of Pleiku, or visit the Bahnar and Jrai cultural villages in the highlands. This seamless tourism space is a huge advantage for tourism businesses to develop more products and improve service quality,” Ms. Trang shared.

Many accommodations, resorts, and tourist attractions in the province are also gradually renewing their products in the direction of experiences linked to local culture. Mr. Dinh Van Xin - Director of Huong Duong Tourism Service Co., Ltd. (Quy Nhon Dong ward) said: Tourists today are not only interested in accommodation, food, or entertainment, but also want to hear stories, experience, and live in the local cultural space.

In particular, the province, which will host the National Tourism Year 2026, is expected to attract a large number of tourists. To prepare for the biggest tourism event ever held in the province, we are continuing to upgrade the infrastructure of restaurants and homestays, and preparing staff with foreign language skills to better communicate with and serve international guests.

Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company - Gia Lai Branch also focuses on renewing products, improving service quality, building regional tourism routes, the "1 route, 2 destinations Quy Nhon - Pleiku" integrated route, and unique tours of the coastal city of Quy Nhon and the mountainous city of Pleiku.

Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Sen - Director of Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company - Gia Lai Branch - said: “We are closely following the province's plan to organize a series of activities for the National Tourism Year 2026 to develop suitable tourism products for each event.”

In addition, it will connect key markets such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, and Da Nang to bring tourists to Gia Lai, contributing to the National Tourism Year and promoting inter-regional tourism development.”

The series of activities during the National Tourism Year 2026 is expected to contribute to promoting the development of the domestic and international tourism market; and to promote Gia Lai's image as one of the major tourism centers in the region. Through this, it will affirm "Gia Lai - Converging Identity, Spreading Green" on the Vietnamese tourism map.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, preparations for the National Tourism Year 2026 have been underway since early on, with promotional activities focusing on highlighting the image of Gia Lai tourism.

This is also an opportunity to standardize products, improve service quality, and build a sustainable and distinctive tourism brand for Gia Lai.

"The Department has coordinated with localities, tourism associations, and businesses to improve infrastructure, enhance the tourism environment, and ensure security and safety for tourists during the peak Tet holiday season of the Year of the Horse 2026 and throughout the year during the National Tourism Year activities," Ms. Chung said.
