According to the Ministry of Education and Training's plan, the high school graduation exam scores will be officially announced at 8:00 a.m. on July 17. During this period, millions of candidates are nervous and worried about the exam results and predicting the standard scores for block C of universities in 2024.

Sharing with Dan Viet Newspaper reporter, Doctor of Literature Nguyen Xuan Hao, a teacher at Le Quy Don High School - Ha Dong, Hanoi , said: "It is predicted that the standard score for block C of universities in 2024 will increase because the Literature exam score can increase from 0.5 to 1.0 points."

Dr. Nguyen Quoc Anh, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology commented: “The Literature exam is considered quite easy. It follows the curriculum closely, is suitable for students, and still has many new elements such as: the balance between inheritance and innovation, and presents thoughts on respecting individuality. This contributes to comprehensive assessment and differentiation of students' abilities. Scores in the range of 6-7 points will be the majority.

The Social Science exam is still quite suitable. With a solid grasp of basic knowledge and thorough review, candidates can complete the test to achieve 6-7 points. To achieve a score higher than 9-10, candidates need to have a solid grasp of knowledge and have the ability to synthesize and apply to read the questions, analyze and choose the correct answer.

It is predicted that the score range of subjects will be concentrated at 6-8 points. This is quite similar to previous years, so this year's university admission scores will not fluctuate too much compared to 2023.

MSc. Cao Quang Tu, Admissions Director of Saigon International University, said that when the Ministry of Education and Training announces the score distribution, schools will use it to analyze and predict, and set the minimum admission score. With the level of this year's exam, the benchmark score may not differ much from 2023. For "not hot" majors, the difference may be 2-3 points. Candidates can review the benchmark scores of previous years for reference.

Consider before registering for block C

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the total number of candidates registering for the high school graduation exam this year is 1,071,000, an increase of more than 45,000 candidates compared to last year. Of these, only 37% of candidates chose the Natural Science exam, the remaining 63% chose the Social Science exam. Compared to last year, the number of candidates choosing the Social Science exam increased and is the highest since 2017.

Bui Thi Bao Ngoc, Literature teacher, High School ofEducational Sciences, Hanoi, noted that candidates when registering for admission to block C at schools such as the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi Pedagogical University, Academy of Journalism and Communication, Hanoi Law University... need to consider carefully and firmly, because these are schools with quite high admission scores.

Standard score for block C of University of Social Sciences and Humanities

The benchmark scores for group C of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi have shocked candidates over the years when many majors have reached nearly 10 points per subject. In 2023, the Public Relations major based on the C00 combination will have the highest score of 28.75 points; the Oriental Studies and Journalism major based on the C00 combination will have 28.5 points; the Psychology major based on the C00 combination will have 28 points.

In 2022, the three majors of Korean Studies, Oriental Studies and Public Relations have a score of up to 29.95. The admission score for the school's Journalism major is also up to 29.9 in the C00 group. These majors have a large number of applications, while the quota is not much, leading to a high standard score.

In 2023, for teacher training majors, the major with the highest benchmark score at Hanoi National University of Education is History Pedagogy, reaching 28.42. The lowest is Fine Arts Pedagogy with a benchmark score of 18.3.

Hanoi Law University Admission Score

The benchmark score for group C of Hanoi Law University in 2023 is as follows: The highest benchmark score is 27.36 in group C00 for admission to the Economic Law major. The major with the second highest benchmark score is Law in group C00 with 26.5.

The Law Department at Dak Lak Branch has a common benchmark score of 18.15 points for all admission combinations.

The admission scores based on the 2023 high school exam results of the School show that there is no large difference in admission scores between the admission combinations for each major. The combinations A00; A01; D01,02,03,05,06 do not differ by more than 1.75 points.
