The appeal of ecotourism , adventure and community
Lai Chau is a true "paradise" for adventure and discovery tourism. The province owns 6 out of 10 highest mountains in Vietnam, including Pu Si Lung (3,083m), Pu Ta Leng (3,049m), Bach Moc Luong Tu (3,046m), and Ta Lien Son (2,993m). These peaks not only attract adventurous tourists but also offer a unique and different tourism product. On the journey of conquest, visitors are "healed" by the beauty of hundreds of years old primeval forests and rich vegetation. In addition, other outstanding landscapes also create diversity for Lai Chau tourism. O Quy Ho Pass, one of the "four great mountain passes" of the Northwest region, is famous for its majestic beauty and year-round cloud cover. Pu Sam Cap cave complex, is likened to a "jade" that contains many mysteries. Along with that are poetic agricultural landscapes such as Muong Than fields and Tan Uyen tea hills, bringing unique agricultural tourism experiences. Another special highlight is that Lai Chau is known as the "capital of Rhododendron flowers" with its vibrant colors, attracting tourists to "hunt flowers" during the mountain climbing season. Notably, the Sin Suoi Ho community tourism village won the ASEAN Community Tourism Village Award in 2023.

The foundation of community tourism in Lai Chau is the rich cultural treasure of 20 ethnic groups living together in the area. Each ethnic group has its own cultural values, expressed through costumes, customs, festivals, house architecture and traditional crafts. The province's intangible cultural heritages have been recognized, typically the Thai Xoe art and Then practice of the Thai people, which have been listed by UNESCO. In addition, traditional festivals such as the Gau Tao Festival of the Mong people, the Kin Lau Khau Mau Festival of the White Thai people, the Nang Han Festival, and the Xen Muong Festival are also unique cultural tourism products, attracting tourists to experience the spiritual life of the indigenous people. Cuisine is also an important factor attracting tourists, with typical dishes such as Pa Pinh Top, Lam Nho, purple sticky rice, and agricultural products and spices such as smoked meat, Sung Pai corn wine, ancient tea, etc.
Creating a “launch pad” for green and sustainable tourism development

Notably, the Project "Preserving and promoting the fine cultural identities of ethnic groups associated with tourism development" for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030. Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee has approved Plan No. 1625/KH-UBND on implementing the Tourism System Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045 in Lai Chau province.
