Attending and working with the inspection delegation were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for People's Defense of Ca Mau province Ngo Vu Thang; Colonel Nguyen Van Hung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Military Command of Ca Mau province.
At the units, the delegation inspected the results of the implementation of the People's Air Defense Task Force (PATF) and the implementation of the Law on PATF by the standing agency of the Provincial People's Air Defense Steering Committee; the system of documents, papers, and PATF plans; checked the awareness of officers and soldiers about PATF work; the operation and use of 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine guns and the handling of situations by the concurrent anti-aircraft machine gun (SMPK) squad.
The working delegation inspected the Air Defense Team concurrently operating the 12.7mm machine gun of the Provincial Military Command.
In recent times, Ca Mau province has implemented the task of PKND with many practical results. The Provincial Steering Committee for PKND has built and consolidated the PKND posture associated with the posture of national defense and people's security; deployed many measures to raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and people for the task of firmly protecting the airspace, protecting the area and defense zone. The coordination and cooperation with units have met the requirements of the task well. The work of thoroughly grasping and concretizing resolutions, directives, programs and plans is close to the local situation.
Along with the field inspection, the delegation also discussed a number of contents on PKND work, building a concurrent air defense force; advantages and difficulties in PKND work.
Major General Nguyen Xuan Thuy, Director of the Army Air Defense Department, delivered a concluding speech on the inspection.
Through the actual inspection, the working delegation acknowledged and commended the results achieved in the implementation of the People's Air Defense work of Ca Mau province in the past time. Notably, the standing agency of the Provincial People's Air Defense Steering Committee (Military Command) has promoted its advisory function and organized the implementation of the people's air defense work comprehensively and effectively. Regularly directing all levels and sectors to build a system of combat documents and combat training plans in accordance with regulations, close to the requirements and tasks of each agency, unit and locality. The work of building air defense forces, training, coaching and air defense exercises has been implemented closely, achieving good quality, gradually improving combat readiness in the defense area.
Speaking at the inspection, Major General Nguyen Xuan Thuy acknowledged and commended the achievements of Ca Mau province in the work of PKND; at the same time, emphasized: Currently, a number of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and ultra-light aircraft (flaycams) are being used, which pose many potential risks to national defense and security. Therefore, the locality needs to actively advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to issue, supplement, and complete directives, resolutions, and plans on PKND work in accordance with the characteristics of the local situation, closely linking PKND work with the task of socio -economic development and strengthening national defense and security. Strengthen coordination between forces and functional branches to ensure readiness to effectively handle airborne situations that may occur in the area.
Major General Nguyen Xuan Thuy suggested that Ca Mau province continue to promote the propaganda, dissemination and education of the Law on People's Air Defense and documents detailing the implementation of the Law on People's Air Defense; strictly maintain the regime of direct observation, reporting and air defense warning from the province to the grassroots level. Strictly maintain air defense combat training, strictly manage ultralight aircraft activities in the area; pay attention to investment, consolidate the solid and widespread People's Air Defense posture, develop the economy - society in association with national defense and security.
