After a dramatic 50-46 victory over Kim Jun Tae (South Korea) in the final, billiards player Tran Duc Minh brilliantly won the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City 3-Cushion Carom Billiards World Cup.

Billiards player Tran Duc Minh brilliantly defeated world number 4 Kim Jun Tae (South Korea) in the final to win the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City 3-Cushion Carom Billiards World Cup.
This also marks the first time in his career that billiards player Tran Duc Minh has won the World Cup championship.
In the final match, player Tran Duc Minh started well, taking a 9-0 lead and then a 15-2 lead. Tran Duc Minh then further extended his lead to 41-20 in the 17th inning.
This gap led many to believe it would be an easy victory for the Vietnamese player, but things didn't turn out as expected.
Billiards player Kim Jun Tae unexpectedly had a spectacular performance, scoring 26 points with 4 series of 4, 7, 12, and 3 to take the lead against Tran Duc Minh with a score of 46-45.
However, under immense pressure, Tran Duc Minh displayed great composure to secure a dramatic 50-46 victory, thus winning the World Cup for the first time and receiving a €16,000 prize.
With this achievement, billiards player Tran Duc Minh received 80 bonus points, moving up from 415th to 37th in the world rankings.
