Speaking to Tien Phong newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, Principal of Hoa Phu Primary School, said that teachers and students at the school had just cooked a "team meal" at the home of two students, Dinh Thi Ngoc Duyen (class 4/3) and Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong (class 5/3).
Phuong and Duyen are sisters from a family of three children. Their parents do not have stable jobs, are often ill, and the family struggles financially , but both sisters are always well-behaved and strive to study hard.

Early in the morning, the teacher and her students went to the market to buy food, then brought it to Phuong and Duyen's house and together they set up and cooked. Although they only made a few simple dishes, it brought a cheerful and warm atmosphere to the house. At noon, the meal was served, and everyone gathered to eat and chat in a friendly manner.
According to Ms. Tam, this is the first year the school has organized home-cooked meals for students to foster closeness, sharing, and encouragement for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
“Phuong and Duyen are two girls from disadvantaged backgrounds who constantly strive to excel in their studies and personal development. Both are well-behaved and polite. This meal shows our care and attention, and provides them with further motivation,” she said.
After the meal, the school presented small gifts to encourage the two children and their families to overcome difficulties, study hard, and become good children and excellent students.
Ms. Tam further shared that they plan to expand the student meal program in the coming years. If the school's budget allows, they will organize many more meals because there are many students in the school from disadvantaged backgrounds.
