According to the Hai Phong City Police, the illegal exploitation, pumping, and transportation of sand and gravel on inland waterways has become increasingly complex recently. Many vessels are using unlicensed pumping equipment and operating clandestinely, causing riverbank erosion, altering water flow, and affecting people's lives and the ecological environment.
The Traffic Police Department of Hai Phong City Police will launch a comprehensive inspection of vehicles equipped with pumping and transporting equipment for sand and gravel on waterways from June 1st to November 14th, 2025.

Through this comprehensive inspection, the Traffic Police Department will thoroughly address illegal sand and gravel mining activities on waterways. Simultaneously, they will strictly manage and control vehicles involved in transporting sand and gravel without proper documentation, both on land and waterways.
The unit will also restore order and discipline in the illegal exploitation, transportation, storage, and consumption of sand and gravel on river routes; resolutely handle unregistered or expired vessels, vessels modified or fitted with additional pumping equipment, vessels transporting sand and gravel without invoices or documents proving legal origin, and other related violations of the law.
