Previously, on June 7, units of the Market Management Department coordinated with the Economic Police Department, Phu Tho Provincial Police to conduct a surprise inspection of the production and trading activities of Tuan Duong & TKT Salanganes Nest Company Limited, located in Thanh Son commune and the Company's business location in Viet Tri ward.
At the time of inspection, Tuan Duong & TKT Bird's Nest Company Limited was producing and trading products processed from stewed bird's nest. The authorities temporarily seized 23,468 units of processed stewed bird's nest products; took samples and sent them to the competent authority for testing.
The test results showed that all 8 samples of stewed bird's nest did not meet the main quality criteria compared to the self-declared product of Tuan Duong & TKT Bird's Nest Limited Liability Company.
From this result, Market Management Team No. 7 determined that more than 23,000 bird's nest products previously seized by Tuan Duong & TKT Bird's Nest Company Limited were counterfeit goods, with the value of the infringing goods being approximately over VND900 million. The Market Management Team transferred the case file and the infringing evidence to the Economic Police Department, Provincial Police for investigation and handling according to regulations.
At around 3:00 p.m. on July 30, Lien Chau Commune Police discovered that the business of Mr. Hoang Van Kiem, residing in Cam Vien village, Lien Chau commune, was importing foul-smelling livestock meat, showing signs of violating the law on food safety and environmental protection.

Through inspection and verification, the authorities discovered 2.7 tons of unprocessed pork, covered with tarpaulin, discolored and smelling foul, in Mr. Kiem’s house. In addition, there were about 2 tons of other pork stored in the freezer.
Mr. Kiem admitted that the above amount of pork was imported for the purpose of processing into sausages, dried meat and smoked meat for consumption. He could not present invoices or documents proving the origin of all the above meat.
Continuing the inspection, the authorities also discovered 138.5 kg of sausage, 224.5 kg of dried meat and 206 kg of finished smoked meat without labels and without ensuring storage conditions according to regulations.

Lien Chau Commune Police coordinated with the commune government, the Veterinary Department and the Economic Police Department ( Phu Tho Provincial Police) to make a record of the incident, take samples for testing of the meat and finished products; the authorities sealed about 2 tons of frozen pork and destroyed 2.7 tons of smelly pork left on the ground according to Mr. Kiem's voluntary request.
Currently, Lien Chau Commune Police continue to consolidate records and handle the case according to regulations.
