Vietnam national team assistant coach 'searches for gold' among hundreds of young talents

On August 2, the preliminary round of the 'Japan Football Dream' project officially kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City, with hundreds of talented young players competing, under the supervision of Vietnam national team assistant coach Dinh Hong Vinh.

The preliminary round of the "Japan Soccer Dream Project" (Pocari Sweat Dream Project) took place over two days, August 2 and 3. Held for the first time in Vietnam, the selection attracted nearly 700 applicants, who were young talents aged 13-14.

During the 2 days, talented young players were comprehensively evaluated by scouts on their personal technique, physical strength, ability to compete and handle situations on the field through professional exercises and competitive matches.

In particular, the entire test system was designed by Coach Dinh Hong Vinh - Technical Director (GDKT) of the program. During the test, candidates will be directly supervised and evaluated by GDKT Dinh Hong Vinh and a team of experienced coaches and scouts. The selection system is built to suit the age group of 13-14, not only to comprehensively evaluate the practical ability of each candidate but also to create opportunities for them to practice, practice their competitive spirit and accumulate experience from their peers.

Participating in the project, Coach Dinh Hong Vinh is considered the "creator" of football dreams for young talents. Mr. Vinh has an AFC Pro coaching certificate (the highest certificate of the Asian Football Confederation), was the acting head coach of U.22 Vietnam, and was also the assistant coach of the Vietnam national team.

The participation of Technical Director Dinh Hong Vinh and a team of experienced coaches is expected to ensure professionalism and objectivity in finding the 100 best faces to enter the final round. Attending the event, Coach Dinh Hong Vinh shared: "On the first day of the preliminary round, many talented faces were revealed. That shows that the quality of the candidates is very good, promising to create a generation of quality, promising players."

Young players compete enthusiastically to win a place in the final round and have the opportunity to go to Japan for football training.
