The School Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture presented flowers to congratulate the new Principal.
At the ceremony, Dr. Trinh Dang Khoa, Vice Principal, permanent member, Executive Board of the University Council, on behalf of the University Council, announced the Resolution and Decision to appoint the Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture.
Dr. Trinh Dang Khoa announced the Resolution of the University Council on the appointment of Mr. Lam Nhan - Associate Professor, Doctor of Cultural Studies, Chairman of the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, to the position of Rector. The term of office is according to the 2020-2025 term of the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture. Along with that, the representative of the University Council announced the Decision of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung on the recognition of Mr. Lam Nhan, Chairman of the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, to hold the position of Rector, term 2020-2025.
Previously, on December 13, 2023, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong chaired the ceremony to announce and hand over decisions on appointing officials and completing officials of units under the Ministry. Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced Decision No. 3857/QD-BVHTTDL recognizing Mr. Lam Nhan, Chairman of the Council of the University of Culture, Ho Chi Minh City, for the 2020-2025 term. The Decision takes effect from December 15, 2023.
At the ceremony, representatives of generations of school leaders, members of the school board, leaders, managers, and representatives of mass organizations and socio -political organizations expressed their thoughts and wishes for the new principal to continue the tradition and build Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture stronger and stronger.

Speaking at the program, the new Principal Lam Nhan thanked the support and trust of the collective leadership, former leaders of the School, the School Council, key staff, teachers and all students. Mr. Lam Nhan said that this is an honor and a great responsibility that the teachers and leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have entrusted him with.
“Over the past 32 years, I have had the opportunity to study and work at this beloved school and that has made me understand more clearly the potential and challenges that the school is facing. I pledge to make every effort to preserve and promote the good traditional values of the school, while guiding the school to adjust and develop in the new era.
Each leader has his own development policies. My development perspective is not to build new things, but that change must be based on tradition, only to build and nurture it to become better and better," Mr. Lam Nhan emphasized.
The Principal stated some immediate and long-term goals for the development of the School: Creating opportunities and an environment for teaching and scientific research for everyone; Supporting the teaching staff and staff in developing their capacity and expertise, encouraging students to participate in extracurricular activities and social projects. In particular, the School focuses on building a cultural environment of solidarity, consensus, and synchronization; responsibility is linked to real benefits.
“When I received the decision of Rector, I immediately thought about how to increase the income of the team. Because I understand that, if I want the school to develop, trying alone is not enough, but the most important thing is that everyone tries with 100% of their strength to build. To do that, there must be appropriate treatment. My big concern is the need to develop the economy , bring good income to civil servants and workers, and have a stable life, then everyone will be united and dedicated. Although life still has many difficulties ahead, there are teachers who still have to rent houses... I believe that with unity and cooperation, our lives will become increasingly better. In particular, I believe that solidarity, consensus and synchronization can turn Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture into a standard school full of positive energy", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Nhan expressed.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture held a master's degree award ceremony on the afternoon of January 4.
On this occasion, the School organized a seminar on "Orientation of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture" to record the contributions of experts and delegates inside and outside the school for the development orientation in the coming time.
On the same afternoon, Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture also held a master's degree awarding ceremony for 32 new master's students in the two majors of Cultural Management and Library Science.
