Announcement of establishment of Tien Giang International Commercial Arbitration Center

(ABO) On the evening of April 25, in Tien Giang province, the ceremony to announce the establishment of the Tien Giang International Commercial Arbitration Center (TGAC) took place. Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Thanh Dieu, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee; along with members of the TGAC Executive Board, 74 arbitrators and agencies, organizations and enterprises inside and outside the province.

TGAC was established under Decision No. 52/BTP/GP dated January 23, 2025 of the Ministry of Justice . This is an important event, marking a new step forward in perfecting the out-of-court dispute resolution system in Tien Giang in particular and the whole country in general, in line with international trends.

TGAC has the function of resolving disputes arising in commercial activities under the Law on Commercial Arbitration 2010 and other disputes in the land sector as prescribed in Clause 5, Article 236 of the Land Law 2024. TGAC's decisions have final value and are enforced in accordance with Vietnamese law and international conventions to which Vietnam is a member.

Although newly established, TGAC has received more than 200 applications to join the arbitrator team. Through a rigorous evaluation process, the TGAC Executive Board has selected 74 individuals with full qualifications, experience and reputation in the legal field.

At the ceremony, the TGAC Executive Board announced the decision to establish TGAC, the operating license, the decision to establish the Scientific Council; at the same time, announced the appointment decision for the positions of TGAC, with the position structure including: 1 Chairman, 6 Vice Chairmen, 1 General Secretary, 3 Deputy General Secretaries, 1 Chief of Office, 1 Deputy Chief of Office and 74 arbitrators.

TGAC Chairman Huynh Quoc Nguyen said that the establishment of TGAC not only contributes to reducing the burden on the Court system, but also opens up a friendly, objective, and fair dispute resolution mechanism, creating favorable conditions for domestic and foreign investment and business activities.

In the coming time, TGAC will focus on perfecting the system of regulations, especially the arbitration procedural rules in accordance with domestic law and international practice; accepting and resolving disputes according to arbitration procedures when requested; at the same time, coordinating with departments, branches, Bar Associations and enterprises to strengthen propaganda and dissemination of legal knowledge and methods of dispute resolution by arbitration to the community.

In addition, TGAC will organize seminars and training courses to improve the professional capacity of arbitrators, lawyers and corporate legal staff.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Thanh Dieu highly appreciated the careful preparation in the process of establishing the Center, hoping that businesses and investors will welcome and work with the Center to solve legal issues, provide legal support, create all conditions for fairness, objectivity, science, and professionalism in the current production and business activities of enterprises, especially in the field of commercial business by arbitration.

At the same time, it is recommended that the Center implement the organization in a professional, scientific, legally sound manner and make accurate decisions.
