Announcing the rules of the 3rd National Press Award 'For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture'

On July 24, the Organizing Committee of the 3rd National Press Award “For the cause of developing Vietnamese culture” held a press conference to announce the rules of the Award. The Award aims to recognize and honor the outstanding contributions of collectives and individuals of the press team to the cause of developing Vietnamese culture.

The 3rd National Press Award "For the Development of Vietnamese Culture" (hereinafter referred to as the Award) is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to select and award the author or group of authors with outstanding press works on culture, information, family, sports and tourism published and broadcast by central and local press agencies within the prescribed time; award the award to typical press agencies with many winning works.

Through the Award, the aim is to inform and introduce the results and achievements of the work of culture, information, family, sports and tourism . At the same time, discover typical advanced examples in the culture, information, family, sports and tourism sector; encourage and motivate cadres in the whole sector to join hands and continue to contribute more to the cause of developing Vietnamese culture.

At the same time, create conditions for journalists to exchange professional and technical experiences, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of information and press activities in the fields of culture, information, family, sports and tourism.

Many new points about the National Press Award for the development of Vietnamese Culture

Regarding the new features of the Award, Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu - Editor-in-Chief of Culture Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Award said that this year, the Award has many innovations. The Award has changed its name to "National Press Award for the Development of Vietnamese Culture".

This year's award has the participation of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission as part of the Organizing Committee, in addition to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Journalists Association.

At the same time, Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu informed that the 2024 Award Ceremony was originally scheduled to be held at the end of August, but due to coinciding with many major events of the country, including the 80th Anniversary of National Day on September 2, the Organizing Committee decided to postpone the Award Ceremony to a more appropriate time.

According to Mr. Phan Thanh Nam - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Van Hoa Newspaper, a member of the Organizing Committee of the Award, announcing the Award's rules, the Award is selected and awarded to authors or groups of authors, excellent journalistic works, reflecting on real people, real events, with the nature of discovery, accurate and timely reflection on collectives, individuals, positive actions, typical advances, criticizing bad habits and vices in society... with one of the following key contents:

Implementing the documents of the 13th National Party Congress into life, Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress; realizing the Directives and Resolutions of the Central Committee and Party Committees at all levels; the role and importance of culture for the cause of socio-economic development of the country.

The guiding articles of the Party and State leaders are associated with the innovation and efforts of the Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism sector, accelerating and breaking through, together with the whole country, firmly entering the era of national advancement.

Anniversaries, major holidays, key events of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, outstanding cultural, information, family, physical education, sports and tourism events nationwide.

The work of building and perfecting institutions, mechanisms and policies in the direction of "creating" and "unleashing" resources for the development of Culture, Sports and Tourism, especially the Master Program for the development of Vietnamese culture for the period 2023 - 2025; The National Target Program on Cultural Development for the period 2025 - 2035;

Building Vietnamese people in the period of innovation, development and integration with appropriate standard values, associated with preserving and promoting Vietnamese family values, cultural values, and national values; skillfully combining traditional values with modern values: patriotism, solidarity, self-reliance, loyalty, honesty, responsibility, discipline, and creativity.

Comprehensive and synchronous development of cultural fields, cultural environment, cultural life: Preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, absorbing the quintessence of human culture, while improving the quality and effectiveness of creating new cultural values. Building a healthy and civilized cultural environment associated with uncompromising struggle against evil, badness, unculture, and counterculture; protecting the values of truth - goodness - beauty.

Improve people's cultural life; build a joyful, healthy and happy cultural life; overcome the gap in development level and cultural enjoyment between regions of the country.

Promote the role of the people as creators and cultural beneficiaries; respect and protect the diverse expressions of culture, of the people, ethnic groups, regions and areas; develop extensive and substantial cultural movements; improve conditions, raise the level of cultural enjoyment of the people, and ensure fairness. Promote the pioneering role of intellectuals, artists and cultural workers.

Strategy for the development of cultural industries to 2030, vision to 2045; exploitation and enforcement of copyright in cyberspace; Promoting the development and deployment of artificial intelligence applications in the development of digital cultural industries; Digital transformation of the Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism sector and achievements of digital transformation in sync with the contents and tasks of digital transformation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The work of protecting, managing and promoting the value of cultural heritage in the fields of: museums, documentary heritage, relics and intangible cultural heritage; the role of cultural heritage - a resource for economic and social development. Solutions to monitor and handle harmful information; solutions to prevent and combat the dissemination of obscene cultural products on cyberspace; raise awareness, skills to master information and technical tools and means for people when participating in cultural activities on cyberspace.

Spread the value of books and reading culture; the importance of books and reading culture in improving knowledge and skills, developing thinking, creativity, nurturing personality and Vietnamese people.

The entries are journalistic works of reflection, reportage, investigation, documentary, memoir, talk show (except live radio and television programs)... on culture, information, Family, sports and tourism are published and broadcast for the first time on all types of press: printed newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television, and photo newspapers from the date of June 16 , 202 4 until the end of the day June 30 , 2025 .

Applications for the Third National Press Award "For the Development of Vietnamese Culture" must be submitted directly or sent by post to the Award's Standing Office by July 31, 2025 (according to the postmark).
