At the invitation of Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand is on a working visit to Vietnam from August 13-15.
On the morning of August 13, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan received Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand.
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is the daughter of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the younger sister of the current King Maha Vajiralongkorn. She has visited Vietnam many times and implemented several charitable and educational projects.
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's visit to Vietnam makes a significant contribution to strengthening cooperation between the two countries in many fields, thereby creating a solid foundation for both sides to promote cooperation, especially in education and people-to-people exchanges.

Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is expected to visit Nam Cuong Primary School in Lao Cai and Nguyen Tat Thanh Primary School in Quang Tri.
In late March, a musical piece about Vietnam titled "Vietnam, a Place of Peace of Mind," with lyrics written by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand, was performed at Chulalongkorn University (Bangkok). The Princess herself participated in the performance, playing the Thai two-stringed fiddle while wearing a Vietnamese ao dai (traditional dress).
"Vietnam, a place of peace of mind" is a 68-line poem written by Princess Sirindhorn, recording her positive impressions and feelings about the natural landscapes and people of Vietnam. The poem has been adapted into 9 songs using Thai and Vietnamese musical elements, with a total duration of 50 minutes.
The musical piece "Vietnam in Peace" combines various musical forms such as orchestral music, choral music, and dance. Many familiar melodies such as "Trong Com," "Ly Ngua O," "Beo Dat May Troi," and "Co La" were introduced to the audience with piano accompaniment by the Princess.
Each year, the "Princess of Thailand Award for Teachers Who Have Made Significant Contributions to Education and the Community" is presented to one outstanding teacher from each member country of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), including Vietnam.
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has a particular interest in creating educational opportunities for children, especially those in remote and disadvantaged areas.
The princess is also interested in funding numerous projects aimed at improving the quality of life for young people in disadvantaged areas.

In Vietnam, since 2006, the Princess has sponsored the "Improving the Quality of Life for Children and Adolescents in the Asia-Pacific Region" project. This project is implemented at three disadvantaged educational institutions in northern Vietnam: Ninh My Primary School (Ninh Binh), Hung Thang Primary and Secondary School (Quang Ninh), and Cao Son Secondary School (Hoa Binh).
The Princess also took many photographs during her visits to Vietnam from 1993 to 2003. From these materials, the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand compiled the photo book "Vietnam Through the Lens of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn," which includes 100 photographs expressing the Princess's affection for Vietnam.
