The Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Japan, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and delegates attended the performance.

Attending the performance, on the Japanese side, were Crown Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko. On the Vietnamese side, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang - Head of the Steering Committee for organizing activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan attended.

The opera “Princess Anio” was performed by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra and the “Princess Anio” Executive Board (Brain Group, Yamaha Music Vietnam Co., Ltd., NPO International Exchange Promotion Association) to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

The work tells the true love story between Princess Ngoc Hoa - adopted daughter of Lord Nguyen Phuc Nguyen and merchant Araki Sotaro from Nagasaki (Japan) about 400 years ago, passed down between the two countries.

Under the direction of general director Honna Tetsuji; music composer Tran Manh Hung; director, scriptwriter and Japanese lyricist Oyama Daisuke; Vietnamese lyricist Ha Quang Minh, the opera "Princess Anio" takes the audience into a beautiful, poetic love story. In the 17th century, Princess Ngoc Hoa and merchant Araki Sotaro met on a boat drifting on the sea connecting the two countries of Vietnam and Japan. 10 years later, fate led the way, the two met again. The two fell in love, got married and went to Nagasaki (Japan). Here, the two were loved by the people and lived a happy life with a daughter...

The main roles in the opera are performed by talented young opera singers from Vietnam and Japan. In the first performance, Vietnam's leading soprano Dao To Loan takes on the role of Anio, while the role of Sotaro is performed by Japanese tenor Kobori Yusuke. Contributing to the performance are many other artists and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Honna Tetsuji.

After the first performance, the opera “Princess Anio” will continue to be performed on September 23 and 24 at the Hanoi Opera House. Then, on September 27, the work will come to the public in Hung Yen. In November 2023, the opera “Princess Anio” will premiere to the public in Japan.

On the night of September 23, the two artists taking on the main roles of the opera are soprano Bui Thi Trang (as Anio) and Japanese tenor Yamamoto Kohei. On September 24, the two artists Dao To Loan and Kobori Yusuke will return to perform.

Through staging and performing this special work, the Organizing Committee hopes to contribute to promoting the good relationship between Vietnam and Japan in the future.
