Maintain stable employment and improve income for workers
Speaking at the opening of the congress, Mr. Mai Manh Dung - Chairman of VEAM Trade Union said: In the past term, the Trade Union of Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation (VEAM Trade Union) proactively coordinated with the Party Committees and leaders of the units to focus on directing, guiding and creating conditions for 23/24 grassroots trade unions under its management to successfully organize the congress for the period 2023-2025, term 2023-2028.

In the 2023-2025 period, VEAM Trade Union operates in a difficult and challenging context. With the attention and direction of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union, immediately after the 6th Congress, the Corporation's Trade Union promptly issued working regulations, spending regulations, reward regulations, and coordination regulations to concretize the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State, leading the implementation of political tasks and production and business activities.
Pursuant to the Charter of Vietnam Trade Union, along with the restructuring process of VEAM's production and business organization, by October 2025, VEAM Trade Union will directly manage and direct 23 grassroots trade unions, with a total number of 14,492 employees, of which 3,137 are women.
Accordingly, 98% of employees have signed labor contracts, are fully insured by the enterprise, and policies for employees are paid fully and promptly.
Although the production and business situation has been difficult at times, the Corporation has strived to maintain an average annual income growth rate of 9.42% in the period 2023-2025 (from 12,590,000 VND in 2023 to 15,074,000 VND in 2025) with bonuses and benefits for employees guaranteed... thereby, contributing to improving the lives of employees and workers such as: Machine Parts Company No. 1; Toyota Vietnam Company; Honda Vietnam Company; Ford Vietnam Company; Suzuki Company...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue - Vice President of VEAM Union presented the political report of the congress.
Propaganda and mobilization work for workers is focused on legal education, dissemination of policies and regimes, support for enterprise restructuring and participation in the development of the Labor Code and Trade Union Law (amended), helping workers proactively face challenges and take advantage of opportunities in the context of international integration.
With more than 92 organized propaganda sessions, the mobilization work has helped workers grasp the law, protect their own rights, work with peace of mind and actively respond to emulation movements launched by the union.
Patriotic emulation: The driving force for promoting production and business
Launching patriotic emulation movements is the core task of the VEAM Corporation Trade Union, notably implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW and the Government's Action Program under Resolution 03/NQ-CP, VEAM has issued an Action Plan to member units, creating an orientation to promote science - technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Delegates voted to elect the Executive Committee of VEAM Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term.
According to Mr. Mai Manh Dung, thanks to effective implementation, VEAM Union was awarded the Emulation Flag for comprehensive excellence by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; many collectives and individuals in the Corporation were also awarded many noble titles by the Party, the State and the trade union organization.
Regarding the function of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, civil servants and employees, the trade union proactively participates in resolving complaints and denunciations; supervises the implementation of democracy, internal rules and regulations at the unit, contributing to building harmonious, stable and sustainable labor relations.
Occupational safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting work have also been enhanced when VEAM and its units have strengthened the Occupational Safety and Hygiene Council, maintained regular inspections, implemented solutions to reduce occupational accidents and diseases, and improved working conditions; 97% of workers have regular health check-ups.

Overview of the Congress
In recent years, the Corporation has continuously adjusted its business structure model, causing the number of employees to fluctuate greatly. In that context, the work of approaching, propagating and mobilizing employees to join the Trade Union organization has been focused on by trade unions at all levels. State-owned enterprises and joint stock companies all have 100% union members; although the rate of joint ventures is not uniform, there are still units that have reached 100% such as Ford Vietnam.
The Corporation currently has 3,137 female employees, accounting for 22% of the total workforce. The Women's Unions from the Corporation to the grassroots have implemented many practical activities such as the movements: "Good at public work, good at housework", "Women are good at economics", "Women actively study, improve their qualifications, build happy families", "Women overcome difficulties, unite and help each other in work and life". Many typical units such as Disoco, Pho Yen Mechanics, Futu 1, Honda Vietnam, SVEAM, Tractors and Agricultural Machinery...
Social work and charity are always the parallel tasks of the Trade Union organization. In particular, in the past term, the Trade Unions of the units supported the poor and people in natural disaster areas; visited and subsidized 3,592 workers, civil servants and laborers in difficult circumstances with a total amount of more than 2 billion VND; supported the construction and repair of 4 "Trade Union Shelters"; continued to care for 6 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; ... and many activities to support overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and floods with the amount of money and materials up to nearly 5.9 billion VND.

Promoting the role of trade unions in innovation

Speaking at the congress, Mr. Le An Hai - Chairman of the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade emphasized: The period 2025-2030 is a particularly important period for the country, a period of strong transformation, deep integration and development towards modernization. The Industry and Trade sector in general and VEAM in particular are facing higher requirements for innovation, improving competitiveness and participating more deeply in the industrial value chain.
