Lam Dong coastal localities deploy response plans for storm No. 15

Currently, coastal localities of Lam Dong province such as Phu Quy Special Zone, Son My, Phan Ri Cua, La Gi... have announced and made plans to proactively respond to storm No. 15 (KOTO).

On November 27, the People's Committee of Phan Thiet Ward ( Lam Dong ) simultaneously deployed a series of contents to proactively respond to storm No. 15, ensuring people's safety in the face of complicated weather developments.

Mr. Do Huu Phuoc, Vice Chairman of Phan Thiet Ward People's Committee, said that to ensure the safety of people's lives and property, the locality will implement a plan to evacuate households in dangerous areas, especially those in coastal areas, low-lying areas and unstable houses to safe places.

The centralized reception points include: Lac Dao Primary School; Duc Thang 2 Primary School; Provincial Gymnasium; Village Communal House (Lac Dao); Hung Long Pagoda; Cultural Institutions Area and Village Communal House (Duc Nghia).

The Ward People's Committee requested the above units to provide a list of managers for easy communication when there is an evacuation order, and to coordinate with the authorities to clear the site and prepare evacuation areas for people to temporarily stay during the storm.

Also on November 27, the People's Committee of Phan Thiet Ward requested the Phan Thiet Automobile Transport Cooperative to support vehicles to evacuate people and property when storms and floods occur.

Thanh Hai Border Guard Station was requested to coordinate with Fisheries Control Station Area 2 to notify captains and owners of vessels operating at sea to proactively avoid and not move into dangerous areas; guide fishermen to find safe shelters and maintain contact to promptly handle arising situations.

For boats anchored at Phan Thiet Fishing Port, the ward requested Thanh Hai Border Guard Station and Fisheries Control Station Area 2 to count and count the vessels; support fishermen in implementing measures to ensure safety at anchorage. At the same time, specialized departments and relevant agencies are required to closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of storm No. 15.

The Ward Civil Defense Command is on duty 24/7 to promptly inform and warn people; check areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and inundation and organize evacuation when necessary. The forces prepare adequate means and materials according to the "4 on-site" principle; coordinate with shock forces and residential groups to inspect coastal residential areas and low-lying areas; be ready to rescue when required. The functional forces also organize the handling of trees and electric poles at risk of falling, ensuring public lighting and drainage systems during the rainy and stormy season.

The Management Board of Doi Duong - Tien Thanh Tourist Area has increased monitoring and advised residents and tourists not to swim in the sea when the storm is affecting them.

It is known that, in addition to Phan Thiet ward, coastal localities of Lam Dong province such as Phu Quy Special Zone, Son My, Phan Ri Cua, La Gi... have announced proactive response to storm No. 15.

In particular, localities request relevant agencies and units in the area to inform owners of vehicles and boats at sea of ​​the location, direction of movement, and areas affected by the storm for prevention. At the same time, adjust production and fishing plans accordingly; maintain communication with boat owners to guide and promptly handle bad situations that may occur.

Along with that, check areas at risk of flooding and coastal landslides; prepare forces, vehicles and materials according to the "4 on-site" principle to respond and overcome incidents promptly. Particularly in Phu Quy Special Zone, the locality also deployed to owners of aquaculture cages to tie them securely and have a plan to transport farmed products to a safe place.

In Son My commune, the People's Committee requested relevant units to regularly inspect and closely monitor landslide areas, especially residential areas and coastal tourist areas, to proactively evacuate people, tourists and property to safety.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the past 3 hours, storm number 15 has barely moved.

At 7:00 p.m. on November 27, the center of the storm was at about 13.1 degrees North latitude; 113.2 degrees East longitude, about 220 km northwest of Song Tu Tay Island. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 12 (118-133 km/h), gusting to level 15. Moving westward at a speed of 5-10 km/h.
